Sorry for not posting in a minute the last ten days have been hectic to say the least hey that's life. Today I had the pleasure of being hired by a lovely woman by the name of Gloria to give her parents Earl and Georgina's final resting place in Keene a much needed cleaning and refresher. I dont know anything about Earl and Georgina but Gloria did say they were great parents and absolutely deserved some tlc. I cant wait for the grass seed that I put down to grow in will pull it all together. So Gloria thank you so much for going with Jon's Headstone Restoration it was my pleasure. If anyone has a loved ones resting place that needs some love feel free to contact Jon's Headstone Restoration at anytime and support local dreams. Have a good day everyone.

"They say the smallest caskets always weigh the heaviest on the heart" Today I was hired by the family to clean up the final resting place of Tyler Jordan Butler a child that tragically had his life cut short at only one month of age in 1993 I will not be accepting payment for this at all this is completely on Jon's Headstone Restoration. This grave is located in the back of the graveyard on Meetinghouse Rd in Hinsdale by the tree line I didn't get out there until way later in the day so the lighting was not great for photos it looked alot worse in person than in the pictures alot of lichen and mold buildup across the entire stone and in all the carvings it took me a while but enjoyed our time together. I talked to Tyler about how life is strange sometimes in a good way sometimes in a bad way and it was too bad he didn't get to experience this world for himself also about how he would only be a year younger than me today and I wondered us being so close in age if we would have been friends and what kind of person he would have turned out to be what his likes and interests would be what kind of music would have been his favorite it's a shame we never got to find out. It was my pleasure keeping you company Tyler. Also after I got done at the end of Oxbow I had a buck run out in front of the car than when I went around the corner and hit the beginning of the Gulf Roads the biggest black bear I have ever seen in my life ran out in front of the car and started running up the mountain side I tried getting a photo as you see in the last shot but I was all thumbs with the phone with the adrenaline flowing and didn't get a good picture was that a sign? I dont know I would like to think it was I find it odd his headstone is a baby bear then I see the most massive black bear I have ever seen and being only the third time I have seen a bear in my almost 29 years on this planet so was it a sign was it not I would like to think so but we will never know will we. Until the next adventure friend's- Your friendly neighborhood Gravekeeper

Today was a special day I was hired by A lovely woman by the name of Sheri to travel to beautiful Vermont to bring her Grandparent's Bert Wilder and Dora Chamberlain's final resting place back to life also Ray Wilder which may be Bert's son I believe. This headstone is a beautiful piece of art from 1927 and it was an honor I was chosen to work on it so thank you Sheri for supporting a local guy like me and my dreams. This stone was ALOT bigger than I thought it was after seeing a photo not only is it the biggest stone I have worked on but my biggest challenge yet it was different than what I am used to with the deeper lettering and the base and sides of the stone being rough cut jagged stone alot of nooks and crannies to get into and that lichen is on there and thick very hard to get off defeated both my scrapers. There was also quite a bit of sludge caked on it and the lichen in the deep lettering proved to be a challenge. So what your looking at here is round 1 of restoration the lycan on the front of the base was so on there I have to let my chemicals work into it and come back with a special recycled glass tool and it should come right off after the chems do their job. I spent about 4 hours keeping Sheri's Grandparent's company and loved every minute of it no matter how hard of a challenge it was. So cheers to you Bert, Dora, and Ray it was a pleasure I'll see you again for our next visit in September. Remember everybody none of us make it out of here alive so enjoy every day we have on this earth and always remember a little act of kindness goes a long way. Until the next adventure everyone - Jon

My name is Jon I find peace and tranquility amongst the dead it gives me pride to preserve our history. The photos you see here are just one round of restoration and these graves are from the 1800s. My whole process takes six months to fully restore your loved ones resting place that includes me going out the first time repeating my process in three months then coming back in six months to fine detail and or paint headstone lettering. I can also clean up the landscape around their resting places. I only use chemicals approved by the US Government that will not harm the stone the same chemicals they use in such historical cemeteries such as Arlington National Cemetery. If you wish to honor your loved ones final resting place feel free to send me a message to set up a appointment I will travel within a hour of Hinsdale NH, Keene NH, or Brattleboro VT but if it's further we can still work something out I take pride in what I do. For the average sized stone you see here I will charge $100 that includes the full six month process, chemical fees, labor and travel if your loved one was a Veteran there will be a major discount. I look forward to hearing from you and starting my business I will be posting regularly on this page come on back to see my travels and work. Facebooks photo upload quality is not good but I will provide you with HD pictures of the whole process as well. YouTube channel coming soon stay tuned.
