The Outreach Committee is pleased to announce that the Hingham Food Pantry will once again be the beneficiary of St. John’s October food drive. We will collect from October 1–31. The mission of the Hingham Food Pantry is to benefit any Hingham resident who cannot afford an adequate supply of food.

In one summer month, Hingham Food Pantry distributed 1,224 bags of food to 153 families, a 15% increase over the prior month. Many Hingham residents who receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) are facing a reduction in those benefits, which will continue to increase the number of families Hingham Food Pantry serves. Even without those changes, the number of families seeking help always increases as the holidays approach. Hingham Food Pantry is grateful for the long time and continued support of the St. John’s community.

How can I help?
Our food drive relies heavily on the generosity and support of the community. There are several ways you can contribute:

Drop off requested food items in the Narthex or bin outside the side door.

Monetary contributions are also welcome. Checks can be made out to Hingham Food Pantry and dropped off at St. John’s office.

Chef-Boy-R-Dee Canned Spaghetti (or similar)

Mac & Cheese

Boxed White Rice

Healthy Cold Cereal

Crackers
