To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you; 2 may He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion; 3 may He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah. Psalm 20:1-3 (NKJV)
Why is the God of Jacob mentioned? According to verse 2, how should “help” be defined? Why does David ask for help from the sanctuary? In what two ways could it come? Why is the request for strength from Zion important? Why did he want the Lord to remember their offerings? Why would the acceptance of a burnt offering be such a blessing?
