YOUR SEASON HAS PASSED
Exodus 33:14
And He said, “My presence will go
With you, and I will give you rest NKJV
(1) God calls Moses to give (orders him) to fulfill His covenant promise:
(12-13) Moses questions God. Worthiness, Readiness: 2) Reminds God of His promise:
(14) I know your heart. (Jeremiah 1:15) Before you were born:
(17-19) God responded and assured: I will do, I will go.
Ponder this:
An unmistakable stirring arises in the human spirit whenever God calls; an uncomfortable tension intended to get our attention. Our first instinct is to question God, “Why me?!!” We question our worthiness and readiness to respond to His calling. Here was Moses, a lowly Median shepherd, called by God into His presence, called to be a prophet and deliverer of a nation no less.
He stood before God and wrestled with Him; about His choice, he questioned his worthiness and readiness for such an epic assignment. Despite his feelings of inadequacy, God’s will be done.
Moses didn’t acquiesce or shrink back. Instead, he appealed to God’s sovereign promises and faithfulness. He reminded and edified God for who He is. And God responded with His assurance of safe passage (Exodus 13:21), that He would be with them every step of the journey (Hebrews 13:5), and that He would reward their faithfulness and obedience.
From Doubt to Determination.
(I Samuel 22:5)
5 One day the prophet Gad told David, “Leave the stronghold and return to the land of Judah.” So, David went to the forest of Herewith. Had David not left the cave of Adullam, he would not have become king; he would have missed out on all the provisions God set aside for him.
And I submit that this assignment the LORD has before me continues to stir my spirit. What was to be my sojourn has become my stronghold. I pray for the LORD’S leading as I step out in obedience and move toward and through my assignment. I pray for spiritual fortitude to remain steadfast and focused on His promise and His provisions. May the name of the LORD be exalted and lifted high.
