Charlene Sargent has been in Hawaii for the past two weeks teaching members of the Hawaii Conference and meeting with government agencies ACS-H to promote and define Adventist Community Services -Hawaii. Her expertise and willingness to share her skills in handling disasters has been a real blessing to the members of the Hawaii Conference.

We also have completed our fourth 6 hour training session, with 72 members completing the training that equips them to work in a distribution center during a disaster setting here in Hawaii. Thanks to everyone who has committed their time to complete this training.

They all passed! The group completed the Donations Operations class at the Hilo church. There are now 24 in the state who have completed the training. Another 38 are scheduled to take the class this Sabbath Afternoon at the Central Church on Oahu. The class will also be taught at the Kahului church on Sunday at 9:00 am.

Fifty Endured to the End. Sunday afternoon concluded the Adventist Community Service Seminar held at Ka Lama Iki Elementary school today. Various topics covering disaster preparedness, and building a practical theological basis for be participants in the community where our churches are based were taught over the weekend. Members and pastors from the islands of Hawaii, Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Kauaii spent the weekend learning how we can be better servants in our communities.
