Islamic Center of Hawaii

02/18/2026

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Ramadan Mubarak!
According to the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Saudi Arabia, and several other Muslim organizations and countries, Ramadan 2026 begins tonight, insha’Allah. Some community members will visit Mauna Kea to see the new moon; however, it may be difficult to see without a telescope, as only 0.5% of the crescent is visible from Hawaii today.
Therefore, we will begin Tarawih prayers tonight, in celebration of the blessed start of Ramadan.
Tarawih Prayer Schedule:

Time: 8:00 PM daily
Hilo: Led by Dr. Mouhamed Kannass (as in previous years)
Kona: Led by Brother Wadi, insha’Allah

Locations:
Hilo Center: 688 Kinoole St, Unit 101, Hilo, HI 96720
Kona Center: 79-7430 Mamalahoa Hwy, Unit C4, Kealakekua, HI 96750

Parking is available in front and back of each building, with additional customer and street parking nearby. The Hilo Center is wheelchair accessible.

Please note: the outside gate at the Hilo Center will close at 6:30 PM. If you arrive after that time, please call 808-909-3340, 808-747-4642, or 808-315-2727 for assistance. For questions or further information, contact our main number at 808-909-3340 or visit https://icHawaii.org/.

Once again, Ramadan Mubarak!
May Allah bless our fasting, prayers, and charity, and grant our community peace, unity, and barakah throughout this holy month. Please keep each other in your du’as.
Sincerely,
Shawon Rahman, Islamic Center of Hawaii, https://icHawaii.org/
