Hillsville Presbyterian Church

Hillsville Presbyterian Church “To live God’s love and show God’s grace through worship, fellowship and outreach.” Our sanctuary supports the hearing impaired and is handicapped accessible.

About Hillsville Presbyterian Church – We organized in 1854 under the direction of the New River Presbytery. Today we are a Presbyterian Church (USA) church in the Abingdon Presbytery in the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic. We strive to be a community of Jesus Christ where you are welcome to be yourself, where you are able to seek answers to your faith and life questions, and where you are able to put y

our faith into action serving in Jesus’ name. Our vision for ministry can be seen in the areas of worship, teaching, and outreach. Through worship we offer a traditional service with a strong music program and a multi-sensory approach to allow the congregation to grow in the spirit of Christ. Through a renewed emphasis on adult education, we maintain a Sunday School class while offering a weekly evening class focusing on current humanitarian need. As outreach, we support several long- standing National and International mission partnerships. We serve our local community addressing food insecurity, improved wellness, and sharing fellowship through the love of music. We worship together each Sunday at 11 am in person and on Facebook Live. Sunday school is at 10 am. We invite you to worship with us.

When told to jump, we’re supposed to ask, “How high?” Right? That expression apparently originated among the ranks of military personnel. Can’t you see it? New recruits in their spit-shined shoes standing at perfect attention as a sergeant barks out commands prefaced by the instructions, “...

Pentecost Sunday was celebrated in a special way this year at HPC. Kathy Welch, member from Minnesota visited with husband,Steve, to present Pastor Rebecca with beautiful pieces of art that she created in honor of Rebecca’s retirement. Everyone enjoyed Rebecca’s Annual Open House Luncheon after services. As we say in the south, “A good time was had by all.”

Hours of overtime dedicated to completing an assignment or job before a deadline. Once upon a time, the imag...
