Thank you to the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who came this morning to fill the snack pack boxes for Hillsboro, Goessel and Center. This will continue every week until September and school starts again. It also goes on when the kids are out of school, such as for winter and spring breaks. Last year volunteers packed and delivered 10,785 snack packs. A huge thank you to Kathy and Kirby who faithfully take our contributions to the food bank each month. A blessing for us to have them delivered and a blessing for those who receive.

This morning we celebrated Clayton Jantz, graduating from Hillsboro High School yesterday. He received a Bible from Lyman Adams and the youth group, and recognition from United Methodist Women and the pastor.
We also gave a prayer of blessing for Kathy Koop as she retires after 33 years of teaching.

The Hillsboro Area Ministerial Association is taking turns each year hosting Baccalaureate and it was our turn this evening. The seniors did a great job with music and prayers. The message was brought by Grant Shewey.

I was at the church during severe weather this afternoon. Fierce lightening, then it hailed in torrents. All over town the streets looked like chopped salad from all the shredded leaves. My peonies were shredded too!

What a joyful "journey" we had this morning! We walked the road to Emmaus with the two disciples and Jesus. Next we headed to UM McCurdy Ministries in New Mexico with our guest speaker, Rev. Glenn Tombaugh. Thanks Glenn! We hope to have a mission trip there in the near future. Finally we commissioned David and Lori for their mission trip to Zimbabwe. May we be confident that Jesus goes with us as we go into the world where God is already at work.
