Monday kicks off Operation Christmas Child National Collection Week! Parkview is one of the drop-off centers for the Marion County and surrounding areas. You can drop off your group's or individual Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts by the sliding doors in the East parking lot. Hours to drop off are:

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐒𝐌 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠. 𝟐𝟐!

Dr. Josh Gelatt, lead pastor of North Oak Community Church in Hays, Kan., will provide the first public lecture of the Graduate Studies in Ministry (GSM) Local Events. He will be speaking on “Christianity’s First Bible: Reclaiming the Formative Role of the Old Testament,” on Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

Gelatt will also serve as an adjunct professor for the Tabor College GSM Initiative, teaching one of two courses during the 2025 fall semester. The courses will run in eight-week modules, with four set for the upcoming fall and spring semesters.

First announced in April, the GSM Initiative was crafted by a partnership between Tabor College and the Central and Southern districts of the Mennonite Brethren (MB) churches. A full master’s degree is pending Higher Learning Commission (HLC) approval, but is anticipated for the 2026-27 academic year.
