Dr. Josh Gelatt, lead pastor of North Oak Community Church in Hays, Kan., will provide the first public lecture of the Graduate Studies in Ministry (GSM) Local Events. He will be speaking on โ€œChristianityโ€™s First Bible: Reclaiming the Formative Role of the Old Testament,โ€ on Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

Gelatt will also serve as an adjunct professor for the Tabor College GSM Initiative, teaching one of two courses during the 2025 fall semester. The courses will run in eight-week modules, with four set for the upcoming fall and spring semesters.

First announced in April, the GSM Initiative was crafted by a partnership between Tabor College and the Central and Southern districts of the Mennonite Brethren (MB) churches. A full masterโ€™s degree is pending Higher Learning Commission (HLC) approval, but is anticipated for the 2026-27 academic year.

To RSVP for the event or learn more about the GSM Initiative, visit www.tabor.edu/gsm.
