Meet Our new Youth Pastor and Family
Adam, Valerie, Isaiah, Levi, and Titus Vanaman
Adam writes:
It was sometime during my seventh grade year that I began attending Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene with my family. The church was such a blessing to me during those crucial years of my life. My passion for God, for ministry, and for following His call on my life, started here at Hillsboro. I was saved as a small child, but it was here at Hillsboro where I finally settled the question of going all out for Jesus surrendering my life and my future to His will! It was the best decision I ever made!
I graduated from high school in 2007 and enrolled at Kentucky Mountain Bible College in the Fall. Here my passion for God and ministry continued to grow and I began to learn more about the deeper things of God. I graduated from KMBC in 2012.
In January 2010, I met my future wife. We were married later that same year and began working part-time at Mt. Carmel High School. My wife Valerie would spend hours working with girls in the dorm and I would spend time working with the boys in the dorm. I would also help with coaching the basketball team and preaching occasionally on Sunday morning.
The next school year we moved into the boys’ dorm as full-time dorm parents and members of the Kentucky Mountain Holiness Association. We very much enjoyed “our boys” during those years. In 2014, we moved out of the dorm and I became the Dean of Students at Mt. Carmel. I have had a variety of tasks these last several years including leading discipleship classes, teaching Eleventh Grade Bible, Head Basketball Coach, Athletic Director, and lots of great times preaching God’s Word! Also, during the last seven summers, I have been the Youth Superintendent/Evangelist at Peniel Holiness Camp in Conneautville, PA.
God has given my wife and me the energy, the passion, and the abilities necessary to work the youth that we have had an opportunity to impact for Christ. Our hearts’ desire is to see young people established in their walk with God.

I have a vision for this youth program that is exciting and fun! But, more importantly,
I have a vision for young people to become established in their faith while they are still in middle school or high school. This world wants nothing more than to tear down the faith of our youth, but God is bigger and is able to establish them in Him while they are young!
We also have three wonderful boys Isaiah 6, Levi 4, and Titus 3. We are very much excited about joining your church family in the coming weeks! God has been so good to us and we are believing and trusting that God has big things in store for Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene!
In Christ,
Adam Vanaman
