Exodus 14:14
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.
The word of God gives us insights of who God is and what He has promised us. When we are full of the knowledge of the word and live by the word, we start to experience the peace of God. Peace is not the absence of trouble, rather it is the presence of God in our lives.
In this portion, Moses was reminding the Israelites, that God had not forgotten them and that He was fighting on behalf of the them. The Israelites had left Egypt believing on what God has spoken through Moses about going to the promised land. However, very soon Pharaoh and His army came with all their finest soldiers to capture the Israelites back into slavery. This made the Israelites very anxious as they were afraid of being killed in the wilderness or taken back captive and put back to heavy forced labour.
Too often in life we engage in the battles of our lives being ignorant of the fact that we belong to God. Anything that happens in our life is a matter of concern to God and that He will fight for us to give us the victory. All we need to do is to trust Him and allow Him to fight the battle as he has promised. Bring our request to Him with thanksgiving and allow Him to take control of our situation.
Gods words says that He will fight for you. When God fights for you, no man or any power of darkness can win. When God is your protector no power in this universe can harm you or defeat you. They may rise up against you, but the victory will be yours. Just as Pharaoh and the finest army of Egypt rose up against the Israelites, but none of them could fight against the El Shadai , the almighty who fought for His people.
Today as you start your day, remind yourself of this great God who says, “ I will fight for you”. All you have to do is to hold your peace. To hold ones peace means to keep quite. Don’t say things that are against the will of God or make God look small. Just keep praising Him and thanking Him and allow Him to take over your situation. No power of darkness will overcome you. No plans of your enemies will prosper. Although they have come up with all their power, but they are about to be destroyed and you will no longer see them. Pray for Gods peace and hold on to that peace. Victory is yours. The Lord bless your day Amen!!.
