What a morning at Northwest.

Anthony took us into Psalm 1 today, and somewhere in there Seth (first service) & Jered (second service) ended up blindfolded on stage trying not to step on a pile of Legos. If you were here, you get it.

The point stuck, though. We walk through a lot of life unable to see what’s coming, making our calls by feel. But the Lord knows the way of the righteous. He isn’t watching from a distance. He wants to walk us through it.

If this week feels like one of those you can’t quite see your way through, that’s the part to hold onto. You’re not feeling your way around alone.

Grateful for everyone who showed up today. See you Sunday.

We think we can handle the next step without God. The reality is, we need him for all of it, and we’re usually the last to see it. Down to the next breath. This Sunday we’re in Psalm 1. It’s about how much we actually need him. Join us at 9 & 10:45am.

Some days are clear. Most days, you’re carrying something.

If you’ve been thinking about coming to church—or coming back—tomorrow’s a good day. We’re starting a new series in the Psalms: ancient prayers from people walking through the same hard, ordinary, real-life seasons we walk through now.

9 & 10:45am at Northwest. Come as you are. We’d love to meet you.

Most of us aren’t praying for the wrong things. We’re just settling for them.

Some hurts don’t end with an apology.
Some betrayals never get explained.
Some wounds never get acknowledged.

But Joseph knew something most of us miss: forgiveness isn’t about what they deserve. It’s about trusting God enough to release your right to get even.

“You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result—the survival of many people.” — Genesis 50:20

God doesn’t author the evil done to you. But He is greater than it. He doesn’t waste pain—He redeems it.

If you’re carrying something you’ve never released, you’re not alone.

There's a lie a lot of us have believed about forgiveness, that if we forgive someone, it means they get away with what they did. That's not how it works. Forgiveness was never about them earning it. It's about you trusting God with the pain so you don't have to carry it anymore. And here's the part most people miss. Forgiveness is between you and God. Restoration takes you, God, AND the other person. You can forgive someone and still not let them back into your life. Forgive them. Even if you never let them back in.

There's a question every hard season eventually asks you: are you going to come out of this bitter, or better?

Two people can walk through the exact same circumstances and end up in completely different places. Same loss. Same betrayal. Same disappointment. The difference between them isn't what happened, it's the perspective they chose.

Romans 8:28 doesn't promise that all things are good. It promises that all things work together for good. That's a much harder, much more honest verse than the one most people quote. And it's a verse that puts the choice back in your hands.

If you're in something hard right now, you're not stuck. Pick one thing today and bring it to God before you bring it to anyone else.
