Congratulations to our new Bishop-Elect!

Congratulations to our new Bishop-Elect!

The Diocese of C4SO is pleased to announce the election of the Rev. Canon Dr. Jeff Bailey as its Diocesan Bishop-Elect. The election took place during a special online Diocesan Convention on April 26 with Clergy and Lay Delegates across the diocese voting via an online polling mechanism.

Bailey was selected from a slate of two nominees that included the Rev. John Haralson of Grace Church Seattle. After an extensive and prayerful discernment process, the Search Committee—appointed by C4SO's Executive Leadership Team—presented two candidates who not only met the canonical requirements but also embodied C4SO’s mission and values.

“I am so honored to have been elected,” Bailey said. “Lord willing, I look forward to partnering with the churches, clergy and parishioners of C4SO as we follow God into a hopeful future.”

The next step in the process is for the College of Bishops of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) to review and either give or withhold consent to the Bishop-Elect. Pending their approval in June, Bailey will be consecrated as Bishop, with the service tentatively scheduled for September 27, 2025. After the consecration, he will transition into the new role, with Bishop Todd providing mentorship and support until his retirement on May 1, 2026. C4SO hopes to officially install Bailey on May 1 at a special service coinciding with their clergy retreat in Colorado Springs.

Bishop Todd Hunter expressed his commendation for the Bishop-Elect:

"Jeff Bailey brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the mission of the Church. His leadership in church planting, clergy development and cultural engagement aligns well with C4SO's vision. I am confident that under his guidance, the diocese will continue to flourish and faithfully serve our communities."

In this Lenten season, we're practicing a communal fast on Fridays, seeking to empty ourselves so that the Lord may fill us. Lord, may we be hungry for your justice and love this day.
