Who is becoming healthier, stronger, and more cared for because of your influence?

In Micah 3, we’re reminded that influence is a responsibility, not a privilege to exploit. It’s easy to think this message is only for politicians, executives, or people in positions of power. But every one of us influences someone—our children, coworkers, students, friends, and the people around us.

The question isn’t whether you have influence. It’s what you do with it. Do you use your position to serve others, listen when they’re hurting, and care for their needs? Or do you expect others to serve you?

Leadership is about more than having influence—it’s about where that influence leads people.

In Micah 3, God confronts leaders who have lost sight of what their leadership is meant to reflect. Instead of pointing people toward Him, they are using their positions for their own benefit.

It’s a challenging reminder for all of us: Is the way we lead, the choices we make, and the way we treat others pointing people toward God—or away from Him?

Just because you have the power to do something doesn’t mean it’s right.

In Micah 2, we see how easily power, resources, and influence can lead us to justify what we want—even when it comes at the expense of others. We tell ourselves, “I deserve this,” or “Everyone does it,” until we stop asking whether our choices honor God.

God hasn’t given us influence, possessions, or opportunities simply for our own benefit. The question isn’t just “What can I do?” but “What does God want me to do with what He has given me?”

May we use what we have not just for ourselves, but to bring blessing to others.

What happens when power becomes a tool for personal gain and greed takes the place of humility?

In Micah 2, we see how the leaders used their power to exploit others and pursue their own desires at the expense of those around them. This chapter challenges us to examine our own hearts, recognize the dangers of greed, and remember that leadership is not about serving ourselves, but walking humbly before God.

God calls us to live differently—to let go of selfish ambition, use whatever influence we have to serve others, and pursue a life marked by humility and justice.
