BHH United Methodist Church Parish Is made up of three UMC churches in central South Dakota and are uniquely different as are the communities in which they are located. JOIN US?

We have been called by God to serve Him exactly where we are at for a time such as this. The BHH Parish is made up of three United Methodist Churches in rural South Dakota providing a witness of Christ's grace to the communities of Blunt, Harrold, and Highmore. Each of the churches is uniquely different and have had a impact in their individual communities for well over 100 years. We collectively

believe that our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Our VISON for carrying out our MISSION is to ENCOUNTER more people, younger people, and more diverse people by developing stronger ministries, which EMBRACE, support, and strengthen families, children, youth and adults. We desire to EQUIP the people of our congregations making them disciples who transform the world each and every day by EXTENDING Christ to our communities, locally and globally, through acts of mercy and through transformed living. We Believe...
Salvation -- Is gained through an acceptance of Jesus Christ's grace based on an understanding of a personal need for a savior, which lays the ground work for beginning an individual relationship with God and Jesus Christ. Spiritual Formation -- is important for each person in order to develop an individual relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ. As we go through life we should grow in faith and knowledge. We encourage this growth through biblically centered preaching and teaching, through individual and group study of the Holy Bible, through daily prayer, through accountability to other believers within the church community, through giving back and through service to others and God
Transformed Living -- As we grow in faith and knowledge becomes evident in our daily lives through word, deed and action. That we are transformed because we promote love, compassion, forgiveness, truthfulness, humility, graciousness, and sensitivity to others in our church and community. Worship -- is an intricate part of transforming lives and we support worship that is stimulating, dynamic, uplifting, motivating, thought provoking and allows for us to experience the presence of God. Equipping Members for Ministry -- allows transformed people to use their God given spiritual gifts and life skills to serve God and others. Our congregations are most effective when every member is discovering, cultivating, and using their God given spiritual gifts and life skills faithfully in ministry. Hospitality -- is an absolutely essential practice in creating a welcoming and inviting environment that is positive, caring, considerate, friendly, and physically accessible for all God's people. Mission and Outreach -- is the best way to encounter God's people. All people have been created in the image of God and need to hear of God love and Christ's grace as well as witness that love and grace in action, through each of us who are living transformed lives.

Here is today’s lectio divina. Paul is asking us to discern the deeper commitments we make regarding our walk and journey to heaven by challenging us to distinguish the difference between law and faith. How do we follow the law and find faith in the midst of the law?

Romans 4:13-25
4:13 For the promise that he would inherit the world did not come to Abraham or to his descendants through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

4:14 If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.

4:15 For the law brings wrath; but where there is no law, neither is there violation.

4:16 For this reason it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his descendants, not only to the adherents of the law but also to those who share the faith of Abraham (for he is the father of all of us,

Questions to ponder?

What is righteousness by faith?

Today’s lectio Divina reminds us that faith is stronger than the law. Law brings wrath and faith brings joy. As u read this out loud and silently, remember to pick a word or phrase on which you feel moved and pray with it. Give time to absorb and live in the Word.

4:23 Now the words, "it was reckoned to him," were written not for his sake alone,

4:24 but for ours also. It will be reckoned to us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,

4:25 who was handed over to death for our trespasses and was raised for our justification.

Today’s lectionary divina verse:

Romans 3:22-26

Remember to:
1. Read it out loud several times and listen for a word or phrase
2. Read it silently waiting for a word or phrase to come into your heart
3. Pray the word of phrase and share it on this post

For there is no distinction: 23 for (AI)all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 (AJ)and are justified (AK)by his grace as a gift, (AL)through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God (AM)put forward as (AN)a propitiation (AO)by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in (AP)his divine forbearance he had passed over (AQ)former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
