📣 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TOMORROW! 📣

Good afternoon friends!

Highlands Methodist Church is in urgent need of volunteers to help us serve our community tomorrow during our Hearts & Hands Outreach event.

If you are available between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM, we would love to have you join us. There are plenty of ways to help, including setup, welcoming guests, distributing food, and assisting families as they arrive.

This outreach provides free fresh produce and valuable resources to local families, and we cannot do it without caring volunteers willing to lend a hand.

Today right before worship started, we experienced an unexpected situation involving a visitor that became physically aggressive toward one of our church members. It was upsetting for many who witnessed it, especially some of our children.

As pastor, I want to say how proud I am of the way our church family handled the situation. In a difficult and emotional moment, people stepped up, cared for one another, and helped bring calm to the situation and did not let it keep us from worshiping. That says something about our church.

A police report was filed, and out of an abundance of caution, we will have law enforcement present next Sunday to help provide additional comfort and reassurance for those attending worship.

The church is called to love people well while also using wisdom and taking appropriate steps to keep people safe. We appreciate your prayers for everyone involved and are grateful for this church family.

As Scripture reminds us, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed.” We may be shaken, but we will not break!
