Dear friends,

I recently had the opportunity to share my testimony on the Korean Christian television program Saeropge Hasoseo (새롭게 하소서). My prayer is that God would use this testimony for his glory and bring encouragement, comfort, and hope to those who are going through difficult seasons in their lives.

You can watch the testimony here:

Shalom! I would like to introduce the mission organization I have the privilege of serving.

King’s Table Asia is moving toward the day when people with and without disabilities are welcomed to the King’s table to worship and share fellowship together. We sincerely ask for your prayers and partnership in this meaningful ministry.

Through the seminars and educational curricula we develop, we hope to help individuals and churches grow healthier in their faith by cultivating a biblical understanding of suffering and disability. Furthermore, we desire to share the gospel with people with and without disabilities throughout Asia and serve them together in the love of Christ.

Thank you.

Disability is not on the margins of the gospel—it is central to God...

Hello, friends!

Need a ride?

I had a wonderful and meaningful experience completing rehabilitation at the National Rehabilitation Center in Korea. During my time there, I learned several new exercises and even had the opportunity to practice driving through a virtual driving simulator.

More importantly, I was reminded of how essential regular exercise is, especially for people with disabilities. For many years, I neglected this part of my health. However, I have come to understand that caring for my physical health is also important for sustaining the ministry to which God has called me. Unfortunately, I also learned that I have osteoporosis, which makes continued exercise and proper health management even more necessary.

I was grateful to meet new friends and to receive visits from old friends. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me, prayed for me, and supported me during this time.

So, should you ever need a ride, feel free to call me. However, I cannot guarantee that the experience will be entirely safe or comfortable!

On a more serious note, I pray that rehabilitation hospitals and programs like this will be established throughout the world, especially in countries and communities that lack adequate resources for people with disabilities.

Lord, raise up compassionate leaders, medical professionals, ministry partners, and philanthropists who will help make quality rehabilitation services available to those who need them most.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is God’s greatest declaration of freedom, announcing that the powers of sin and death have been defeated and that God’s new creation has begun.

In light of this gospel, we declare freedom from the shame, discrimination, isolation, exclusion, and fear that many people with disabilities experience each day. People with disabilities are not incomplete human beings or merely recipients of care. They are created in the image of God, redeemed by the blood of Christ, gifted by the Holy Spirit, and indispensable members of Christ’s body. The church is not simply inviting people with disabilities to our table; together, we are recovering the King’s table that Christ has already prepared for all His people. At this table, people with and without disabilities worship, fellowship, serve, and participate in God’s mission together. I pray for the day when every church throughout Korea can confidently declare, “Our church is the warmest and most welcoming community for people with disabilities and their families.”

Friends,
I am grateful to announce the publication of Indispensable: Disability, the Body of Christ, and the Gifts of Belonging, a new book on disability ministry, inclusive church leadership, and gospel centered belonging. This book brings together fifteen local and global disability ministry leaders to share biblical theology, lived experience, and practical guidance for churches that desire to welcome, equip, and serve people with disabilities and their families. Grounded in Scripture and shaped by pastoral reflection, Indispensable calls the church to move from simple accessibility to true belonging, from accommodation to communion, and from good intentions to faithful discipleship. If you care about people with disability and the church, Christian leadership, inclusive worship, pastoral ministry, or the theology of suffering and weakness, this book will encourage and challenge you to see every life as essential in Christ. Learn more and order your copy today, and join the movement to strengthen disability ministry in the local church. Praise the Lord and thank you for your prayers and support.

Misunderstanding 6: Faith Guarantees the Healing of Disability

Many believers quietly carry the burden of wondering why healing has not come, especially when they have prayed faithfully for relief from disability or chronic illness. Scripture affirms that God is able to heal, yet it also reveals that true faith is rooted in trusting God’s presence and purpose even when physical healing does not occur. Disability is not a sign of weak faith or spiritual failure. It is one of the many places where God’s grace, strength, and sustaining love are revealed. The church is called to become a community where persons with disabilities are fully welcomed, valued, and empowered to serve, recognizing that every life reflects the image of God. As we grow in biblical understanding of faith, healing, and disability, we learn that God’s power is made perfect in weakness and his faithfulness remains unshaken in every circumstance.

This article is part of a series that addresses common misunderstandings about disability within the church. It examines one misconception through biblical, theological, and pastoral reflection, seeking to discern how believers with disabilities and those without disabilities can together build a he

Misunderstanding 5: All disabilities are basically the same.
Many churches unintentionally treat disability as a single category, yet Scripture and lived experience tell a far more complex story. Disabilities can be visible or invisible, congenital or acquired, physical, intellectual, developmental, or related to mental health, and each carries distinct needs, challenges, and gifts. When the church assumes that all disabilities are the same, it risks loving a category rather than honoring a person created in the image of God. First Corinthians 12 reminds us that the body of Christ is made of many different members and that those who seem weaker are indispensable to the whole. A faithful Christian response to disability begins with listening, learning, and offering concrete hospitality rather than quick assumptions. As the church grows in disability awareness, inclusive ministry, and theology of disability, we bear clearer witness to the gospel by welcoming believers with disabilities as full partners in worship, community, and mission.
