Hello Everyone, March 2016
In Honor of The Feast of St. Philip Fr. Jim Murphy has scheduled a Mass on Sunday May 1st at 1pm.
Msgr. Delbert Schmelzer is planning on attending and we would like to recognize him for his 60 Year anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood and celebrating his first Mass here at St. Philip!
May is Mary’s Month and it would be greatly appreciated to decorate the church with fresh flowers and plants for this special occasion. The church will be open Saturday and Sunday.
Although some dusting and cleaning will be needed, the church is still in great shape. The appearance provided many positive comments during a recent funeral here. Thank you to all who helped the James O’Flahrity family with their service.
Any help with cleaning, maintenance, planning, setup, etc. can now begin and will be very much appreciated. We hope to again have a light luncheon after the Mass and therefore we welcome snacks, beverages, and desserts to be brought in and shared. Silent auction items would also help us out.
During this past year some outside weatherization projects were completed. Volunteers also took care of the mowing, snow removal, and landscaping. Currently installation of new LED lighting is going to help our utility costs.
Thank You to everyone who have donated toward the Rose Window Project, Memorials, and in general help with our utilities and other maintenance. These needed funds are making the difference to help Preserve St. Philip and it’s availability.
If anyone cannot attend this year and would like to honor Msgr. Schmelzer with a card, send them to this address by May 1st and we will present them for you.
Please come and join us. Looking forward to seeing you!
If you have questions, you may call 608-341-7665 or 608-929-7490.
