Lectura: Hebreos 10:35-39; Filipenses 1:6

Devocional: Dios no empieza una obra en una persona para abandonarla a mitad de camino. Filipenses declara con confianza que quien comenzó la buena obra también la completará. Hebreos insta a los creyentes a no desechar su confianza, porque la recompensa que viene con la perseverancia es real y está por venir. Tu identidad no la definen las voces de quienes han hablado en tu contra, los fracasos que llevas o las temporadas en que la meta parecía estar demasiado lejos. La define quien te llamó, quien corre contigo y quien estará en la línea de meta cuando llegues.

Day 5: The Author and Finisher of Your Faith
Reading: Hebrews 10:35-39; Philippians 1:6

Devotional: God does not begin a work in a person and abandon it midway. Philippians declares with confidence that the one who started the good work will also complete it. Hebrews urges believers not to cast away their confidence, because the reward attached to endurance is real and coming. Your identity is not defined by the voices of those who have spoken against you, the failures you carry, or the seasons in which the finish line seemed impossibly far away. It is defined by the one who called you, who is running with you, and who will be standing at the finish line when you arrive.

Romans 10:13-15 (NIV)

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.
There are 5.3 billion people in the world, and Jesus delegated to us the responsibility to share the good news that God has come to us; we can be forgiven and restored; there is a life beyond here and now.... it is eternal, it is good, and God has made the way for us to have that life through Jesus Christ, the Lord.

Lectura: Santiago 1:2-4; Romanos 5:3-5

Devocional: Santiago no les dice a los creyentes que finjan que las pruebas no duelen. Los llama a tomar una decisión predeterminada sobre cómo responderán antes de que la prueba siquiera llegue. La alegría en el sufrimiento no es un sentimiento que aparece automáticamente. Es una postura que se elige de antemano. Romanos sigue esta idea al trazar el camino desde la tribulación hasta la esperanza, revelando que el proceso en sí mismo produce algo irremplazable en el creyente. La paciencia, el carácter y la esperanza no son atajos disponibles. Se forjan en la dificultad. La próxima vez que enfrentes una prueba, pregunta no solo cuándo terminará, sino qué quiere Dios construir en ti a través de ella.
