Lutheran Student Fellowship Welcomes Students Back
UW-Platteville

After a summer of jobs, internships, travel, rest, and time with family, students are returning to UW–Platteville—and Lutheran Student Fellowship is preparing to welcome them.

LSF will hosted a booth at Bridgefest on Sunday, August 30, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. More than 60 student organizations participated in this annual welcome event outside Bridgeway Commons. LSF members will meet new students, invite them into Christian fellowship, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The first weekly on-campus worship service of the academic year will be Wednesday, September 9, at 7:00 p.m. Weekly Bible study begins Monday, September 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the Markee Student Union. Through worship, Scripture, and fellowship, students receive Christ’s gifts and encourage one another as they study and live out their vocations.

Find Lutheran Student Fellowship on PioneerLink. Please pray for students returning to campus, connect an incoming UW–Platteville student with LSF, or support this South Wisconsin District campus ministry as it brings God’s Word to a new academic year.

Divine Service: Page 203
Hymns: 559, 524 and 523
Bible Readings (ESV): Jeremiah 15:15-21; Romans 12:9-21; Matthew 16:21-28
Introit Psalm 37:5–7; antiphon: v. 4
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently or him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Collect of the Day
Almighty God, Your Son willingly endured the agony and shame of the cross for our redemption. Grant us courage to take up our cross daily and follow Him wherever He leads; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Gradual Psalm 34:9, 19, alt.
Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing! Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
