🚨🚨🚨 By God’s design, the little years are a critical season of leaning into the safety of your parents as you navigate this big and sometimes scary world around you.
These years are full of laughter, play, and joy…and big emotions as a little person with a brain that is still forming tries to express themselves and make their needs known. This, while a hard season for many of us to parent through, is good and right and by design.
But what if in the middle of that, the caregiver meant to provide you with that safety simply can’t? Their addiction and their tendency toward being in unhealthy relationships leaves you feeling alone and scared—when this big scary world isn’t something just happening out there, but in your own home too?
If this is your story, then your brain will likely know feelings of fear more than safety. Dysregulation, more than regulation. And your already struggling 5 year old brain is likely to experience some BIG feelings that you’ll likely pass on to those around you.
But here at the Restore Network, we know that all behavior is communication. And we understand what this little girl is telling us. Help me feel safe. Help me learn calm. Help me connect to a safe adult.
We are currently looking for a foster home for a 5 year old little girl as she needs to move from her current foster home due to the caregivers being unable to meet her needs. The goal on this case is likely moving to adoption, so a forever adoptive home is likely needed for her.
Real Kids, Right Now, Who Need Us: Please pray. Please share this need. Please consider your role.
