🌸 Why Should We Rejoice Today? 🌸

Because today is a gift from God.

No matter what happened yesterday, God's mercies are new this morning. We rejoice not because life is always easy or perfect, but because God is always faithful.

We rejoice because:
🌷 We woke up with another opportunity to live, love, and serve.
🌷 God's grace is still sufficient for every challenge we face.
🌷 His promises remain true, even when circumstances change.
🌷 He is working all things together for our good.
🌷 Every new day is evidence that God is not finished with us yet.

So today, choose gratitude over complaining, faith over fear, and joy over discouragement.

🌤️ Sunday Reflection 🌤️Some of us walked into this Sunday carrying heavy hearts, unanswered prayers, and silent struggles.
But Psalm 13 reminds us that even David cried out, “How long, O Lord?” — yet he still chose to trust God in the middle of the pain.

No matter what this week looked like, don’t lose heart.
God has not forgotten you.
Your story is not over.
Joy is still coming. 🙏🏾

“But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.” — Psalm 13:5

We believe leadership is not just about being seen — it’s about serving others with love, humility, and compassion.

Jesus taught us:

A servant leader understands that true greatness begins with serving people. We are grateful for the opportunity to pour back into the community, one smile, and one act of kindness at a time.

Every Wednesday, Pastor Robert D. Lodge, Jr. and the Peoples Fresh Start Church family are volunteering to serve under the direction of the City's Senior coordinator, Sonya Davenport. We are honored to serve the seniors of Highland Park at the Ernest T. Ford Recreation Center from 12:00 PM– 2:00 PM. ❤️

Mother’s Day can bring joy for some and pain for others.

Some were blessed with loving mothers. Others experienced absence, hurt, disappointment, or loss. But today, we also thank God for the spiritual mothers—those women who prayed for us, encouraged us, corrected us, loved us, and helped guide us toward Christ.

A spiritual mother may be:
🌸 a grandmother
🌸 an aunt
🌸 a church mother
🌸 a mentor
🌸 a teacher
🌸 or simply a faithful woman of God who poured into your life.

Never underestimate the power of a godly woman’s influence.

Today, we honor not only biological mothers, but every woman who has nurtured hearts, strengthened faith, and helped shape generations through love and prayer.

🌸 Yesterday was a beautiful day of fellowship and self-care! ❤️

We hosted our Mini Mother’s Day Facial Event for senior women at Downes Manor in Highland Park.

This is only the beginning! Throughout May, we will continue visiting senior buildings and spreading love, appreciation, and encouragement throughout our community.

Special thanks to Andrea Watson, Dwayne Weems of Situations Hair Salon, and Felicia Watson of Dedicated Senior Medical for supporting this event. 🌷

Today, Peoples Fresh Start Church will be honoring our seniors at Downes Manor with FREE mini facials, skincare, fellowship, and love! ❤️We are honored to bless 20 women through this special experience. Names will be selected by drawing.

🌸✨ Celebrating Faithfulness in Service ✨🌸

Today, we honor and celebrate the dedication and unwavering commitment to God’s work at the 59th United Sisterhood Scholarship & Excellence in Christian Service luncheon.
💐

We celebrated our very own Deaconess Arnell Perkins for her faithful service—truly a reflection of the teaching in Matthew 25, the Parable of the Talents. In that parable, the servant who was faithful over what was entrusted to them heard the words:
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things.”

Deaconess Perkins, your life and service embody this truth. You have taken what God placed in your hands—your gifts, your time, your heart—and multiplied it for His glory. Through your commitment, lives have been touched, faith has been strengthened, and God has been glorified.

🌿 Your labor is not in vain.
🌿 Your faithfulness has not gone unnoticed.
