2 Samuel 2:1-32
Know Who Jesus Is: The Consequences for Disobedience

• When it comes to doubting the truth and questioning the legitimacy of what God said, it is ridiculously.
• God said your Kingship Saul will be ripped from you. Saul’s reputation soured because of his disobedience. How come Saul didn’t repent? How come he didn’t change. The presence of actions is encouraged and energized by a present spirit. The spirit that influences our lives causes us to yield to certain decisions. This is why the Holy Spirit is so important and why Jesus Christ came, taught and lived on the earth to show us how not to be manipulated by evil spirits. In the presence of attacks we can make decisions about how we are going to move, allowing us to see and represent God because you are committed to Christ. Your desire is to please and be used by God and be an example. King Saul lost this. The new anointed King David with out consulting God.
• Vs 1-5 David is still in Ziklag which is Philistine country. Remember the 12 tribes have created cities. Judah always did his own thing. Shall I go up to any of the cities of Judah? God said go to Hebron. That’s at least 600 men plus families, livestock, and their things. The men of Jabesh-Gilead buried Saul. David sent messenger to the men of Jabesh-gilead, saying, May the Lord bless you because you showed kindness and loyalty to Saul your king and buried him. Jabesh-gilead was aligned with Judah. David gave honor to those who did what was right by Saul. David continue to honor the King who wanted to kill him was his first act.
• Vs 6 -God tells the men of Jabesh-gilead that I will also do right by you because of what you have done.
• Vs. 7 So now, let your hands be strengthened and be valiant, for your master Saul is dead, and the house of Judah has anointed me king over them.
• Vs. 8 Now Abner son of Ner, commander of Saul’s army, took Ish-bosheth son of Saul and brought him over to Mahanaim. He was 40 years old when he began his two year reign over Israel. But the house of Judah followed David.
• David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah for 7 years and 6 months.
• Don’t let your attitude and personality get in the way of obeying God.
• Vs. 12 Abner son of ZNer and the servants of Ish-Bo sheath son of Saul went out from Mahanaim to Gibson. Two groups of men met across the pool, Joan son of Zeruiah and the servants of David went out also and let the young men have a contest before us. 12 from Benjamin who were with Ish-boseth son of Saul and twelve of the servants of David. This is know as the Field of Sharp Knives, which is at Gibeon.
• Key point: Abner is an example of men being full of themselves. They can’t learn from the mistakes from the leaders before them. Abner is the example of not making changes after following faulty leadership. All of us have an opportunity to decide who you will follow.. the proven Jesus or stand blank, and deceived by satan. The pleasures of sin are fake and phony. Anyone who take pleasure in having so much fun tonight but when you wake up in the morning it takes a whole week to recover from the pain, vomiting, forgetting the traumatic things that have happened. Somebody is lying! How can demoralizing activity be fun. Somebody is lying. In Jesus, you know the joy. You know the pleasure and the fun of living in Jesus.
• Now a battle ensues tribe of Israel vs Judah. Asahel pursued Abner who was quick on his feet like a wild roe or antelope. Abner kills Asahel. Joel and Abishai pursued Abner.
• Vs. 26 Shall the sword devour forever? Do you know that bitternesss will be the result? How long will it be then before you bid the people to stop pursuing their brethren? Joab blew the trumpet and the people stood still.
• Vs. 31 19 of David’s men died. And 360 men of Abner died.
• This is an example of how important professed servants of Jesus Christ how we have to constantly renew a right spirit in him. We must constantly re-evaluate our spiritual life. The evil spirits are always operating to bring persecution in our lives. We can still have the victory we if we stand fast.
• Get permission from the Lord before making a move. The consequences of disobedience cause hundreds of thousands of lives to be lost during his reign and after his death.
• Remain focused on The Lord Jesus Christ!!
• Learn from David and ask, “Lord, what shall I do? Lord, Shall I go? Lord, what shall I make of this?” We don’t have to be victims of disobedience. Submit to God and live!

Know Who Jesus Is: Disobedience and Arrogance Reaps Death

• You missed something if you were not moved to repentance because you acknowledged you are a sinner and I need The Savior to save me, wash me, clean me, mold me and shape into a vessel worthy of His Honor.
• Repentance is a serious expression of sorrow. Severe remorse for actions prior to. The disciples taught by Jesus expressed the same words that Jesus said, repent of your sins, turn from your wicked ways and follow Me, my precepts and examples, by using the power and gifts I left you if you are willing to grow in Me by relationship. When we loose sight of this the consequences are severe.
• This message is pretty sad. The consequences of Saul’s disobedience. It was prophesied by Samuel.
• Proverbs God Hates a haughty heart. There is a level of arrogance the world of leadership that resides under the catch phrase “type A personality or Alpha”. The world gives you a way to destroy yourself if you don’t find your way in Jesus Christ.
• When man is influenced by evil, man tends to embrace the raggedy gift of intellect given to us by satan of what an Alpha man is. He’s big, strong and over powers everybody else. When an alpha shows up, he is followed. I rebuke and disavow every errored version of what is consider by ignorant folk by the scientific definition of an alpha. The enemy takes what God is blessing us with and turns it to our destruction. Being an alpha or beta is not the problem. It’s allowing the enemy to work through us.
• There was a time with each generation that our ability to develop better and better tools to meet our needs. But the enemy is intended to corrupt every good work on the earth. Man kind get deceived too easily. We came into this world day 1, knowing nothing. You didn’t know you were alive. Usually made to cry. Had to be cared for to go to sleep and wake up. We didn’t come on the earth knowing what we know now. In the process of learning there is an evil force intent on destroying what God has created.
• When I look at like from this perspective, there is a monster among us that is more dastardly. and evil than any monster the movies could ever create. This monster seeks to kill babies in utero or when they are born, torments their childhood and every stage of life. He loves to create death in us. Carrying death all through out life wherever we go. He is intent on wreaking destruction in God’s great earth. This is why people fall victim and we don’t’ even realize it.
• Saul fell victim. No where in the Bible do I see where Saul fell on his face and repented for his sin. Samuel rebuked Saul’s’ sin. 2nd sin he dug in deeper. 3 sin, the brought the lambs and goats to let the people get them to sacrifice to God. If you did what God said, what is this noise I hear? Samuel chastised him he tore Samuel’s robe. This day your kingdom is riped from your house. When Samuel turned an evil spirit entered Saul until he died. 1 Samuel 27
• Samuel has died. God always comes on the scene and utterly destroys the god’s people choose to worship that are dead and made with their hands. God’s spirit was to continue in Saul when Samuel died. The sign of strength over Israel has died. Military strategy is to destroy the leadership and the people will fall apart. All idol worshipers and those that worship mediums get out of the kingdom.
• 1 Samuel 28 When God does not respond to him he seeks the witch on Endore. Why did God allow Samuel to be awaken from sleep? When you don’t’ get the answer you want for God does not mean God’s answer has not come. God is not your puppet. God is not your call on boy of perveyor of your temper tantrums. Check yourself if your response is other than, prayerfully, patiently, waiting to hear from God after repenting when you know you’ve done wrong.
• 1 Samuel 31
• Israelites fled before the Philistines and fell slain on mount Gilboa. David was on the side of the Philistines. David was not allowed to fight with the Philistines. Saul and all three of his sons were killed. Saul fell upon his sword but did not die ( an Amelikite killed him). Armour bearer was the king’s protector and provide what the king needed. The armour bearer lived and breathed to serve the king. The armour bearer also fell upon his sword and died with him. The rest of the Israelites fled who were not slain. The Philistines came and dwelt in them.
• The Philistines put Saul’s armor in the house of the Astaroth [the idols representing the femal deities Astoreth and Ashera] and they fastened his body to the wall of Beth-shan. All the valiant men arose and went all night and they took their bodies and cremated them there. The took the bones and buried them under the tree at James’s and fasted seven days after they were cremated.
• Don’t allow arrogance to seep into your life by unintended deceitful statements that go uncorrected. If you’re committed have to stay committed. We have to grow in Christ.
• In the barber shop. Man of God enters and his conversation about being saved is I repent everyday. Barber responded you can’t keep doing what you want to do and continue to repent for the same sins. Repent is remorse, repent, remorse and turn 180 degrees. Repentance is from the heart.
• 2 Samuel 1:16
• Amalekite man brings the news with the crown and bracelet indicating King Saul and his sons are dead to David.
• David, how come you were not afraid to kill the Lord’s anointed? You can turn from God, but his gifts and callings are without reproach. He does not take them back. God expects us to love Him like he loves us. True to the commitment to Him. The truth of heart is in our actions. David called one of his young men to kill the Amalekite. Your own mouth testified against him saying, I have slain the Lord’s anointed. You don’t’ die until God said so!!! No matter what stay with God. Your glory, O Israel, is slain upon your high places. How have the mighty fallen!

Know Who Jesus Is: Even in the Midst of Devastation, God Reigns!!!!
1 Samuel 30

• Summary 1 Samuel 29 after Samuel’s death, the Philistines gear up for battle against the Israelites and David is fighting with the Philistines. When Samuel died, thought things are over now. The God of Samuel is not longer present since Samuel died. Let’s attack the Philistines. The Philistines are enemies of God and the Israelites throughout the Old Testament. Acknowledge the truth.
• 1 Samuel 30
• Vs 1-6 When David and his men arrived home in Ziklag, they found the Amalekites had made raid into the Negev and Ziklag, they crushed Ziklag and burned it to the ground. They carried off the women and the children and everyone else but without killing anyone.
• David’s men talked about stoning David because their sons and daughters were taken after crying until they were physically and mentally exasperated. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
• Vs 7-8 – Abiathar the priest, David said, Bring me the ephod. Instead of want to stone David, they could have prayed and cried out what to do next. Ephod – sacred vest or apron worn by the priest. David asked the Lord, Shall I pursue them? The Lord responded yes, you shall surely overtake them and without fail you will recover all.
• How will God talk to you if you don’t talk to him? How can God lead you if you don’t’ listen and obey Him.
• Vs 9-16 So David and 600 men, for 200 stayed behind who were too exhausted and faint to cross the brook Besor. Besor is a deep body of water. If you don’t’ swim, you drown. They found an Egyptian in the field and brought him to David, and gave him bread and he ate and water to drink, a piece of cake of figs and two clusters of raisins and his spirit returned for he had not eaten any food or drink for 3 days and 3 nights. David asked him to whom do you belong? I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekites; and my master left me three days ago I fell sick. David said can you take me down to this band? He said, swear to me by God that you will heighten kill me nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring you down to this band. He brought David down, behold the raiders were spread abroad all over the land, eating and drinking and dancing because of all the great spoil they had taken from the land of the Philistines and of Judah.
• Vs. 17 David smote them from twilight even to the evening o the next day and not a man of them escaped, except 400 youths who rode camels and fled. David recovered all the Amalekites had taken and rescued his two wives. Nothing was missing, small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything that had been taken; David recovered all.
• Vs. 22 the wicked and base men who went with David said because the 200 men did not go with us they only get their wives and daughters and none of the spoil.
• Vs. 23 David said, You shall not do so, my brethren, with what the Lord has given us. He has preserved us and has delivered into our hands the troop that came against us. They shall shred alike.
• Vs 25 And from that day to this he made it a statute and ordinance for Israel.
• Vs. 26 when David came to Ziklag, he sent part of the spoil to the elders of Judah, his friends, a saying, Here is a gift from you of the spoil of the enemies of the Lord: Bethel, Ramoth of the Negev, Jattir, Aroer, Siphmoth, Eshtemoa, Rascal, the cities of Jerahmeelites, the cities of the Kenites, Horma, Bor-ashan, Athach, Hebron, and for those in all places David and his men had habitually haunted.
• David left home because home was not receptive to David. David still had to fight along the way. David made a friend with one of God’s enemies and was a place of safety for awhile. Follow God’s leadership. NO man can benefit from the blessing of submission of God’s will without submitting to God’s will.
• It does not matter the success you think you have, at the blink of an eye it can all be gone. What you have does not belong to you. It belongs to God. He can take it and give it to whom he chooses. In the midst of devastation God reigns. David has been following the precepts of God. God anointed David the King of Israel. David stays faithful amidst the trials. When we wake up God is all powerful. Anytime of the day, God is all powerful. All power is in HIS Hands. Help us obey you in Jesus name

1 Samuel 27
Know Who Jesus is: Watch out for silent destruction, trust the Holy Spirit and only Him
• This message should make you think about the stressors of life and the decisions we make under pressure.
• Evidence overwhelmingly shows that evil never quits. Why do we expect different? For example hundreds of black people died fighting for civil rights. Some of those deaths are just now being discovered. People fought with God, not fists or guns. Fought with the spirit of righteousness.
• Medgar Evers was assassinated in front of his house. He was betrayed by a black man. Jet magazine carried the story. His death was said to be because he betrayed the national agenda. Blacks were beaten, castrated, hanged, torched, etc for standing up for their rights.
• Emmitt Teal age 14, dragged from his relative’s house from his bed. Emmitt never came back home. He tortured to death. He would not say what they wanted him to say. At least 2 black men heard him beaten to death. The back of the truck where his body carried to the water and a cotton gin attached, was filled with blood and cleaned out by a black man.
• The pressure from the world caused this nation to do what it did years ago. The first attack was to kill Dr. King. Next kill the president and his brother. I used to wonder why these three figures were always on church fans. MLK,. John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy, Medgar Evers, were national voices were national voices against evil. Emmitt Till spoke from the dead. The white woman lied. This shows that black children are not allowed to be children in public.
• The same egregious evil is attacking with white nationalism (K*K).
• People who mean right are standing up and calling out lies. This is how to tell who the truth brothers are by their fruit. Evil imitates and brings fake and phony. Wolves appear as sheep. Evil appears as an angel of light.
• The medal of freedom has been corrupted at this time with the current recipient. It’s reserved for the most valiant in their commitment to this nation.
• The servant David finds himself in a similar situation. In the last chapter David was sought out a second time. He apologized for being an evil man that didn’t deserve being spared by David. The Lord delivered David again without any errors or men harmed. David’s body guard Abner could have stabbed King Saul in the head with Saul’s spear. Again Saul’s says the same things ..”Should you be blessed and prevail.” Return my son I will harm you no more 1 Samuel 26:20-25. We must listen to the Holy Spirit.
• I find myself standing still and not moving. My family has called me into question about certain events. God always reveals the truth. I choose to wait and hear God.
• 1 Samuel 27
• Vs. 1-7 David said in his heart I shall now perish one day. I should escape to the land of the Philistines. Saul will despair of seeking me any more within the borders of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand. David goes to Achish son of March, king of Garth. The 600 men and their households, David’s two wives – Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s widow. When Saul learned David fled to Garth, he sought for him no more. Achish gave David the town of Zika’s that day. Therefore Zika’s belongs to the kings of Judah to this day. David dwelled in Zika’s 1 year and 4 months.
• Achish was the son of the king of Gath. He and David had a relationship. Basically David deceives Achish to thinking he was after the Israelites.
• Vs. 8- David attacked Egyptian lands Geshurites, Girzites, and Amalekites [enemies of Israel Joshua had failed to exterminate]. When David attacked the land all the people were killed and kept the clothing and animals. He took the animals and apparel to achish. No one could tell any other story except David.
• 1 Samuel 28
• Vs. 1-2 Achish said to David, you and your men will fight with me in battle and you will become my bodyguard always. Be careful how we align ourselves with truth and righteousness.
• Remember when permitted by God, man can only kill the body. I lived with the belief that God is in control.
• Vs. 3 Samuel is dead and all of Israel mourned. The philistines assembled and came and encamped at Shunem and Saul gathered in Israel and they encamped at Gilboa. When Saul saw the philistine host, hew as afraid, his heart trembled greatly. Saul was not answered when he inquired of the Lord, no response by a dream or by Urim [a symbol worn by the priest when seeking the will of God for Israel] or by the prophets. (Prov. 1:24-30)
• God has a way of showing you what your defiance has cost you. Evil will always be evil.
• Next week continue 1 Samuel 28.

1 Samuel 26
Know Who Jesus Is:

• When you’re not committed to the Lord while lured into the world, you will not grow in Christ. You will need to be corrected by God. When you’re born again you are not the same. Live like you are set apart for me. Don’t disappoint God.
• After sparing Nabel after the pleading of his wife Abigail. Nabel died. Abigail is now one of David’s wives.
• Saul, 1 Samuel 24 had the opportunity to kill Saul. Touch not my prophet and do him no harm. David cut of David’s robe. Outside the cave, David bowed before Saul seeking why he wanted to kill him. See I could have harmed the and showed him his robe. Saul saw his robe missing and was immediately moved. You’re a better man than me, David. You have not trespassed against me, please forgive me and come back home said Saul. Saul returned in a repentant mindset. David returned to where he was… apart. David did not want to cause problems in Saul’s’ kingdom.
• 1 Samuel 26
• Vs 1-4 Saul took 3000 troops to look for David. David sent spies and learned Saul and his army was looking for him. David is committed to the leadings and promptings of God. David is anointed to be God’s prophets just as Saul was anointed. Be careful how you live. We need to know who Jesus is and treasure the gifts God has given us. Don’t allow humanity to change the truth of God’s Word in you.
• Vs 5-12 David and Abishai will go down into Saul’s encampment. The formation had King Saul’s tent in the center of the formation. Best soldiers around the perimeter. Abishai, you cannot strike the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless. As the Lord lives, He will smite him; or his day will come to die or he will go down in battle and perish. The Lord forbid that I should raise my hand agains the Lord’s annointed. Take the spear and the jug of water and left. The Lord put 3000 men into deep sleep.
• Just because you are protected by 3000 men does not mean you are safe. It was not that we were so quiet. David and Abishai are not that skilled. Trust God. No one is. God gives us the victory everytime!!!
• One of the war strategies is to cut off supplies to weaken the army because does not have food, water, sleep, etc.
• Vs 13-16 David calls out to Abner. Why have you not guarded your lord the king? See where the king’s spear is and the jug of water that was by his head.
• Some of us take authority that is not given to humans. God anoints and God removes anointing. Who are we to say who is and who is not? Some humans want to re-write the Bible and say what God did not say.
• Pastor has learned when he sits silent and starts rebuking the chatter. It gets real quiet. It leads back to the truth I already knew.
• Vs 17-25 - Then Saul knew David’s voice. What have I done to you my lord? Saul said, I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I will no more do you harm, because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Behold, I have played the fool. Saul said to David, May you be blessed, my son David; you will both do mightily and surely prevail. So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.
• How many pastors who act like Saul with a fake apology and their members will follow them still. OBEY the LORD. Don’t rely on earthly rationalization and human reasonings. OBEY what GOD SAID!!! Keep your ears hearing what the Spirit says to the Church!!!
• Change what ever you do and think that is not pleasing to GOD!!!
• My sheep will know my voice and not others they will follow.

Know Who God Is: Watch Out for Silent Destruction
1 Samuel 25
• Something is missing in your life if you feel proud about evil. You’ve missed the silent destruction or the trickery.
• If the preacher engaged in questionable behaviors the church had a way of addressing that preacher. In my lifetime, the person standing as God’s representative who commits an egregious sin and God restores them to their position. I have not found that even though God is the God of second chances. All of the three kings of this message, reminds us to watch out for silent destruction and to learn from their lives.
• Our walk with our Lord and Saviour is very serious. When we look at the world and what it provides and not screening it through Jesus, we leave ourselves open to silent destruction.
• Preachers were assigned a church and would live with a family in the church. This family had a 12 year old daughter that the preacher performed adult interactions with a child. The 12 year old is now a 50 and not telling the story.
• The laws of the land protects children. The problem is secrets and manipulations of children by abusing adults. Adults are to protect children. When adult rob children of their innocence. The pastor has been arrested and sentence to 6 months in jail. He pastors a mega church today with 16,000 members today. Watch out for silent destruction.
• At 22 years old you have no business looking at a 12 year old for any reason sexual or for pleasure. There is no excuse! Adults are responsible to take care of children.
• 1 Samuel 25
• Vs. 1 Samuel died, peacefully in Ramah and the Israelites assembled and mourned for him. David arose and went to the Wilderness of Paran.
• Vs. 2-4 There was a very rich man in Maon, name Nabal who had a wife name Abigail who was a woman of good understanding, and beautiful. But the man was rough and evil in his doings; he was a Calebite. David heard Nabal was shearing his sheep.
• Joshua and Caleb were the only true Israelites to enter the promise land from the wilderness. Nabal should be a warrior and faithful like his family genealogy. How can Nabal be a fool. Nabal dishonors his family line’s legacy. Watch out for silent destruction.
• This is another example of how the enemy tricks us and we have no idea what’s happening. This why satan is a deceiver.
• Vs.5-6 David sent 10 young men to greet Nabal in my name. Caleb died wealthy in land of Hebron. The land and the people prospered in mountainous land. Nabal had a responsibility to appreciate what was passed down to him and grow. When you do not know the legacy you cannot honor the legacy. Continue to build upon the legacy. God blesses the descendants that obey.
• Vs. 7-13 Your shepherds were with us while we were in Carmel. Please give whatever comes to your hand to your servants and to your son David. Nabal asked, Who is David? Who is the son of Jesse? Shall I take my bread and my meat and give it to men? David’s men turned away on their heals and left. Get your sword. 400 men went with David and 200 stayed with the stuff.
• Vs 14-17 One of the shearers told Abigail, Nabal insulted David’s men. We were protected by David and his men. They were a wall to us night and day. Harm is determined against our master. He is such a scoundrel and no one can talk to him.
• Vs 18-20 Abigail made haste and took 200 loaves, 2 skins of wine, five sheet already dresssed, five measures of parched grain, 100 clusters of raisins, 200 cakes of figs, and laid them on donkey. Told the servants to go before more. She did not tell her foolish husband. She met David and his men.
• Vs 21 -31 – David said surely in vain I have protected all what Nabal has. He has repaid me evil for good. She got off the donkey quickly and fell on her face. On me let this iniquity be. Watch out for silent destruction. Abigail knew who David was. Nabal should have fallen on his face because your men came in your name.
• Vs 32-35 David said blessed are you for keeping me from avenging myself with my own hand. David listens to God. We have to be hearers of what the Spirit of God says!!! Otherwise we fall into silent destruction.
• Vs. 36-38 Abigail returns home and Nabal is throwing a feast and was drunk. She told him nothing until morning. Nabal’s heart failed inside and he became like a sponge. About 10 days later, the LORD stuck Nabal and he died. Nabal disrespected God’s anointed.
• Vs 39 David heard about Nabal’s death and said Bless the LORD who has rendered a verdic regarding Nabal’s insult to me and who kept me, his servant regarding Nabal’s insult to me and who kept me, his servant, from doing something evil! The LORD brought Nabal’s evil down on his own head. David asked Abigail to become his wife. He also married Ahinoam from Jezreel.
• Vs 44 Saul gave Michal, David’s wife to Patti, Laish’s son from Gallim.
• Watch out for silent destruction. Watch out for evil lurking in your midst.
• The devil is on his job, where you are age 12 or 90. Make sure you are dependent on the leadership of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!!!
• Whenever times get hard, annoying, confusing, angering, be silent and let God lead. Fix your ears to hear the Spirit of the LORD!!!

1 Samuel 23
Know who Jesus Is: Never Accept a Substitute for True Faith in Jesus!!

• After King Saul has had 85 priests killed. One priest fled to tell David. Do we have that confidence that With God you are safe to stand against the evils of society?
• The plight of David in this trial at this time in his life. When you know who Jesus is. Jesus was not born at the time. David was anointed by Samuel. David’s expectations didn’t stop him from pursuing instructions from God. Some church folks we get in our flesh manipulated by the enemy and get attitudes when things don’t turn out the way they should. Be quite and pray. Be careful and don’t’ make deals with the devil.
• Vs. 2. David prayed, Shall I go and attack these Philistines? The Lord said to David, Go and attack the Philistines and save Keilah
• Vs. 3 David’s men were afraid we would be found in Judah because it had anonymity and served the king.
• Vs. 4-5 David prayed again, and the Lord said go to Keilah. The Philistines were delivered into David’s hands and they brought away their livestock.
• Vs. 6 ephod – an apron. The priests job was bloody due to sacrifices.
• Vs. 7-13 Saul learned they were in Keilah. David prayed. The Lord said, Saul will come down. David prayed, will the men of Keilah surrender me or my men to Saul? The Lord said, they will surrender to you. Then David and his men about 600 set out and left Keilah. When Saul learned David escaped Keilah, Saul gave up the expedition.
• Every step David is praying and seeking the Lord’s Answer!
• Vs 14-28 – David remained in the strongholds (safe place) in the wilderness. Jonathan looked for David. David was in Horesh and Jonathan when home. Some of the people of Jiph told Saul. The Saul went to Maon. David made haste. A messenger came to Saul because the Philistines invaded the land -Separation Hill. Then David left and went to the region of Engedi, where he stayed in hiding.
• If Saul had been successful in killing David. He probably would have killed his daughter married to David and Jonathan who already hurled a spear.
• When you compromise and turn away from God, the four cowards will lead you – jealousy, fear, anger and envy will drive you. Saul being guided by the four cowards, he’s neglecting his kingdom so much so that the Philistines attached Saul’s kingdom. Keep your mind on your business and stop being guided by your flesh influenced by an evil spirit like Saul.
• For the favor of man you turn a blind eye to God. Do not compromise the value of the truth.
