Our reading this morning is about an incredible choice which was faced by the early church. Up till this point, the people who were a part of the Christian movement pretty much all belonged to the Jewish tradition.

New counter tops in the old kitchen! Special thanks to Michael Jones who custom-made these bright new counters and back splash. This used to be the main kitchen at Springfield from 1949 to 1970 when the new fellowship hall and kitchen were built. The old countertops were horrible -- dark red linoleum covered with scorch marks from hot pots and pans, peeling and crumbling. We're using this area now for FEMAP (Friends Emergency Material Assistance Program) and it's also available for crafts and other activities.

Saw this family sunning themselves in the cemetery this morning -- too big to be fox, likely coyotes. They loped off into the woods as soon as they saw me. Nice to know your neighbors!

Good morning, Friends! Thank you all for coming today. I want to start this morning with a special reading for Father’s Day. It was written by a Jewish scholar, about 180 years before the time of Jesus. We’re reading from this book in our midweek Bible study.
