Our annual Memorial Day Ceremony honoring our fallen veterans will be held on Monday, May 25th beginning at 9:00 am. Please plan accordingly as parking will fill in quickly, so a slightly earlier arrival would be recommended. Also, please bring a lawn chair if you are not wanting to stand, as we have limited seating available for folks with disabilities. Also, an umbrella might be needed as the current forecast shows a chance of rain the morning hours.

We would like to invite the public out to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Higginsville on Thursday, May 21st at 9:00am to assist in placing flags for our annual Memorial Day observance. We will be placing a flag at every grave, so we appreciate any help volunteers might be willing to give! If you want to bring a small screwdriver or device to push a hole into the ground, it helps for getting the flags set with less effort. If not, we have extras here to hand out to those who would like one. Thank you in advance!!

The Administrative Offices of the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville will be closed in observance of the Truman holiday on Friday May the 8th. The offices will also be closed for Staff Training on Monday, May 11th. Please note that the Cemetery grounds remain open for visitation from sunrise to sunset even on days when the offices are closed. Have a blessed weekend!!

VOLUTEERS NEEDED!!!!

The Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville is requesting help to wash headstones and perform minor landscaping tasks during the week of April 20th - 24th. We are preparing for our major National Inspection and want to put the best face on our proud facility and grounds. Any volunteers can check in with us during the next couple of weeks Monday through Friday between 8:00 and 4:00, and if any large group organizations wish to perform a weekend cleanup, I can arrange for that as well. (We will happily sign off for any local students for community service hours!!)

A reminder that artificial flowers and items will be removed from grave sections starting on Monday, March 16th to accommodate our growing and mowing seasons, as per our Cemetery Regulations. If you have any artificial items that you would like to keep, please make an effort to have them removed prior to Monday the 16th. As always, real flowers are welcome year round.

The cemetery office will be closed on Thursday, February 12th, in honor of Lincoln's Birthday. The cemetery grounds will remain open so that you may visit your loved ones. The office will reopen on Friday, February 13th at 8:00 a.m.

Additionally, our office will also be closed on Monday, February 16th in observance of Presidents Day and reopen again on Tuesday the 17th. Thank you.

The offices of the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville will be closed on Monday, January 19th in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King National holiday. The grounds remain open for visitation as always.

A reminder that all state offices will be closed on January 1st for the New Year Holiday. The Cemetery Grounds remain open for visiting as always, but the Cemetery offices will be closed all day. We will reopen as usual at 8am on Friday the 2nd. Thank You and Happy New Year!!

We will be CLOSED on December 24th (Christmas Eve), December 25th (Christmas Day) and December 26th (Day after Christmas) as the Governor has ordered all state offices closed for the holidays to spend with their families. We will return to the office on Monday, December 29th at 8:00am. Thank you for your understanding and may you all be blessed this Christmas season!

Just a reminder that the Cemetery Offices at the Missouri State Cemetery in Higginsville will be closed from Wednesday afternoon until 8:00am on Monday December 1st for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Cemetery grounds and gates, as always, remain open for visitation through that time.
