PLEASE READ: IT TAKES A COMMUNITY TO HELP A COMMUNITY
This is Bishop Thompson of Bridge To Hope Community Development and Outreach. The reason for the cancelations of the food ministry at times is because we spend 200.00 a week going and picking up these goods, we have an electric bill, and other expenses that accompany these programs. We have funded this program out of our own pockets for multiple years and we have depleted our funds as a very small organization. Free to everyone else does not mean free to us. We have reached out into the community and very few have responded to the call. In times like these we are feeling the squeeze just as everyone else is. Keep us in your prayers that others may get on board and see the necessity of these services that are critical in these times. Many need help but we need help to help. We have sent out letters to businesses and handed out flyers to individuals. Even if some would be consistent in giving 5.00 a week it would help. We don't live in the community in which we serve but we have a heart for the community in which we serve. I am a native of Higginsville and have always called Higginsville home. We have many services of help that we desire to incorporate into this fine community to assist in meeting the needs but it does take funding to accomplish these visions. We don't only do food we also do public give aways of products which include hygiene, home decor, appliances and many other items.
