🏁Last night at the Little 500 at Anderson Speedway, God reminded us again why we keep showing up at the racetrack.
This is my new friend, Rob Keesling, driver of the #42 Non-Winged Sprint Car. Earlier in the day, fellow On Track Ministries chaplain Larry Avery had spoken with Rob about life, eternity, and being sure where he would spend forever. The conversation was prompted in part by the recent passing of Kyle Busch and the reminder of how fragile life truly is.
After the driver’s meeting, we gathered for a short chapel service under the pavilion. When the service ended, Rob stayed behind and shared that before climbing into the race car for the Little 500, he wanted to be sure where he would spend eternity.
Larry and I had the privilege of sharing the Word of God and the Good News of Jesus Christ with him. Last night, Rob placed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Rob did not win the Little 500 last night … but he won the most important race in life. He settled where he will spend eternity and can now live with the assurance of Heaven when he someday takes life’s final checkered flag.
Congratulations, Rob! We are thankful for your boldness to publicly share your decision to follow Christ. This is why On Track Ministries keeps showing up at the track. 🏁
The Bible says in James 4:14 that life is “a v***r, that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” None of us are promised tomorrow. But God has made a way for us to know where we will spend eternity through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:13 says, “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
If you are not sure where you would spend eternity, please do not put it off. Reach out to me or Larry Avery. We would be honored to talk with you about how you can know Christ personally and have the assurance of eternal life.
