RESURRECTION INTERNATIONAL CHURCH

Resurrection Family Church began meeting December 1991, with 16 people in attendance. The first official service was held January 1, 1992, with 40 people attending (twenty-one adults and nineteen children). Sunday morning services were held in the Senior Citizens Building at the Brown Penn. Sunday evening home group was held at a member's home. Wednesday evenings RFC met at Sunny Valley for worship. In September 1992, we moved to the Hwy 70 location with sixty-three attending our first Sunday service. We remained at this location until November 1997, at which time we moved our services to First Church of God. January 1998, Hickory High became our home for one year, during which time we became totally mobile. After two years of believing and one and one half years of negotiating, praising, giving above and beyond all of our means, through much hard work, sweat and tears and prophesying to four jars of dirt and a rock, the Lord brought us to this facility; the Life Complex home of Resurrection Family Church. He is awesome and totally faithful to fulfill His promise. January 1, 1999 we celebrated our seventh anniversary. January 3, 1999 was our first service at this location. Proverbs 3:5 - 6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight." In 2003 the church embraced the Vision of G-12 which enables every believer to minister through the discipling process. On May 31, 2004, Apostle Steve Deitz formally announced that Resurrection Family Church was changing its name to Resurrection International Church. This name change better identifies the call of the church to the nations. Presently there are two other churches, all of different denominations, but with like visions, meeting in the Life Complex Facility of RIC.

First Timothy 6 warns about the love of money because the real issue is what happens when a useful resource becomes responsible for your identity, security, or sense of enough. You can have very little and still be obsessed with money, and you can have plenty while holding it with open hands!

Wisdom teaches you to work when nobody is watching, prepare before the pressure hits, handle what is already in your hands with discipline, and make decisions that can bless somebody beyond yourself. That kind of life rarely happens by accident. It gets built through daily obedience.

So before asking God for more, ask what He wants you to do with what you already have. Your next season may be connected to how faithfully you steward this one! ๐Ÿ’™

Some verses have been highlighted, underlined, posted, memorized, and quoted for years while the behavior they confront remains completely untouched... That is a strange possibility worth considering. You can know exactly where a verse is on the page and still keep it from getting anywhere near your actual life!

Samuel learned to respond with, โ€œSpeak, for your servant is listening,โ€ in 1 Samuel 3. That posture involves more than hearing information. It means becoming available to act on what God says. If Scripture has already exposed something that needs to change, start there!

Following Jesus happens in the middle of real life, which means connection with God has to travel beyond Sunday morning!

Maybe you pray during your commute, keep a verse on your phone, worship while making dinner, take a prayer walk on your lunch break, or pause before a difficult conversation to ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom. What helps you stay connected to God throughout your day? Share your favorite practice below because somebody else might need to try it this week.

Refuse to become intimidated by somebody elseโ€™s strength, because their strength is not evidence of your disqualification. Sometimes God will place you somewhere your credentials cannot fully explain so that dependence remains necessary after the door opens. If He put your feet there, quit apologizing for taking up space and become faithful with the ground underneath them!

Your words are snitching on your heart. ๐Ÿ‘€ If every inconvenience becomes a disaster, every delay becomes defeat, and every hard season becomes โ€œGod forgot me,โ€ eventually you have to check what has been feeding your mouth. Proverbs says life and death are in the power of the tongue, so quit giving your worst thoughts a microphone. Fill your heart with truth until faith becomes your reflex!

There are moments when another prayer is exactly what you need, and there are moments when the prayer has already been answered with an instruction. Learn the difference, because God is faithful to His promises, but He never promised to drag your potential across the finish line while you refuse to move!
