What is competing for your heart?Jesus warns that worries, wealth, and the desire for other things can grow like thorns and choke out God’s Word in our lives. God wants our whole heart —not just a small piece. Instead of letting worry lead, choose prayer. Instead of trusting in things, trust in God. “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness...” - Matthew 6:33

Faith gets hard-but hard does not mean God has left you. Don’t just hear God’s Word; let it take root and change the way you live. You don’t have to do everything today -just take your next step with Jesus.

God’s Word is good seed, but the condition of our hearts matters. Life, hurt, distraction, and repeated sin can harden our hearts until we stop receiving God’s truth. But Jesus can make what is hard soft again.
“I will remove the heart of stone... and give you a heart of flesh.” - Ezekiel 50:26

God’s Word is good seed-but is our heart ready to receive it? Jesus teaches that a cultivated heart hears His Word, holds onto it, and bears fruit. God is for you. He wants to restore what is broken and grow something new in your life. Don’t wait for rock bottom.
Prepare your heart. Receive His Word. Choose obedience.

The Christian life is more than receiving blessings—it is learning to become a blessing. Jesus showed us how:
Begin with prayer.
Listen.
Eat with people.
Serve.
Share your story.
This week, write down the names of the people God has placed in your life and ask:
“How can I bless them in a meaningful way?”

“Through love serve one another.”

We are blessed to be a blessing.

Jesus gives abundant life, and that life overflows in us to bless others. This week we were reminded that generosity starts with a changed heart. When we trust Jesus, He gives us more than enough so we can be life giving to the people around us.

Let’s team up to bless local foster kids this school year! We’re hosting a Back-to-School Drive for Inner Circle Foster Care on this Thursday and Sunday (July 30 & August 2). We are collecting paper, pens, scissors, highlighters, pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, and flashcards. You can place them your donations in the purple box in the lobby. Choose life. Not by clinging to money, success, relationships, or even good gifts like kids and work, but by staying connected to Jesus, the fountain of living waters. Idols always drain life, but Christ gives life abundantly. Love Him. Obey Him. Hold fast to Him.

God loves the outsider, the newcomer, and the one sitting alone. Jesus calls us to love one another like He loves us, to make room for new friends, and to reflect His heart through compassion, kindness, and welcome. Go be the kind of church that draws people in.

When Jesus changes our hearts, He changes our relationships too. From selfishness to Spirit-led love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control - this is the fruit that makes real friendship possible.
