Pierre will provide an entertaining and dynamic performance featuring the artistry, versatility, and musical excellence that have made him a sought-after performer throughout his distinguished career.
Pierre Fracalanza is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, organist, and music director whose distinguished career spans decades of performance, education, and musical leadership. A musical prodigy, he began playing piano and organ at age three, was performing in churches by age eight, and became a church organist and music director at sixteen. After studying at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, he built a successful career as a professional entertainer throughout the Detroit area’s premier clubs, restaurants, and venues, while also serving as a staff theatre organist for Theatre Organ Pizza and Pipes in Pontiac, Michigan.
Following fifteen years as a full-time performer, Fracalanza joined Hammell Music, Detroit’s Steinway and Yamaha representative, where he helped introduce the Yamaha Disklavier player piano to the Detroit market and became a featured performer for Yamaha and Roland. He simultaneously served a major Roman Catholic parish in Novi, Michigan, ultimately retiring after 31 years as its music director. Today, he continues to perform as a pianist, vocalist, theatre organist, and MIDI specialist, incorporating multimedia elements into his concerts and contributing as a beta tester for virtual organ technology. His career highlights include performances for Senator Edward Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, and Arlene Dahl, as well as opening for Carol Channing. Fracalanza is also a Steinway Artist, a prestigious designation recognizing world-class pianists who choose Steinway pianos as their instrument of artistic expression.
