There has been a lot to worry about around the world recently, between ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and in Eastern Europe, as well as another election here in the U.S which could cause further division. But as Christians, we have a hope that comes from our conviction that Jesus Christ is King, and he rules as the Prince of Peace over this world. While the rest of the world worries and even despairs in the face of these conflicts, God is calling us to be peacemakers, knowing that God's victory in the New Heavens and New Earth is certain.
In our Brethren tradition, we’ve made it a priority to pray for the peace of the nations around the world, and to hope for God’s coming kingdom where war and violence cease. So we’d like to invite you to a Prayer Service for Peace at our sanctuary at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, November 6. This will be a time of lament, confession, and celebration of God's victory. Together, we will show our ultimate allegiance to Christ, who alone can bring peace to these conflicts. If you have friends or family that are interested in praying with us, please bring them along!
We’re praying that this would be a fruitful time where God meets our community with reassurance of his sovereignty, goodness, and peace.
