We are so excited to announce that we have resumed in-person worship services and we have a new pastor! Welcome Pastor Keith Lee! We would LOVE to see new faces in our congregation!

We are a small United Methodist congregation located in Herndon, VA, just half a mile away from both the Fairfax County Parkway and Leesburg Pike. This church is very mission-oriented and active in its community for its size, and you will find a welcoming presence here, regardless of who you are or where you are in your faith. We have resumed in-person Worship Services at 10:30 am every Sunday, but we are also continuing our Worship Service via Zoom. We will resume our Adult Sunday School Class both in-person and via Zoom on July 18, 2021. You will need to visit our website at dranesvilleumc.org to register in order to gain access to the Zoom meetings.

To participate via the internet on your computer, tablet, or smartphone (video and audio):

1. Please click here in advance to register for Sunday Worship as a Zoom meeting.
2. Enter your name and email address on the page that appears for security
3. Click on the reCAPTCHA "I'm not a robot" box
4. If asked, perform the visual verification by identifying the objects in the pictures.
5. Click on the "Register" button
6. You will receive an email from "Webmaster DUMC" shortly after registering
7. Save that email for Sundays. You will use that email to link each week.

Meanwhile, we do have an adult Sunday School Class and our Worship Service every Sunday morning via Zoom. Great Idea to repurpose old crayons...

Looking for an opportunity to serve our community? The Closet is calling for volunteers to help out with the Herndon Hospitality Association's JamBrew Music Festival, an event that promotes local musical talent and offers free concerts under the stars (with food, wine, and beer available for sale). The event starts August 30 and continues every Friday night through September, with Saturday, September 28, as a rain date. The duties for volunteers include:

- Checking ID's (for beer and wine sales),
- Pouring or selling beer,
- Selling pizza,
- Marshaling at the gates, and
- Checking that nobody brings in or takes out alcohol.

These are very light duties, and the crowd is very family-friendly! The available shifts are from 4:30-7:30 PM and 7:30-10:30 PM each night of the festival, including the rain date (if needed). HELP NEEDED: We need at least two more volunteers to help run sound at the contemporary service once per month, both for the Sunday service and for the Thursday night rehearsal. No experience or prior expertise is necessary--just a willingness to serve and a desire to help DUMC provide quality worship to all of its congregation. Training will be provided on how to set up and manage the sound board. If interested, please contact Theresa Arnold at [email protected].

Reminder: This Sunday is our bimonthly Even 4 Others event! This is the weekend to bring your bags of food and toiletry donations to the church to benefit all who are served by the Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM). Please drop them off in the front hallway anytime before the 11:15 service. If you're not sure what donations they can and can't use, or if you'd also like to help load the bags into the car, please contact Susan Gray at [email protected] for details. Thank you all!
