Our MPBC Mass Choir was magnificent, as was our guest choirs from Shiloh Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA and Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Centreville, VA. Prior to the rules in Virginia regarding in-person worship during Covid-19, each Sunday paper programs were printed for the congregates to pick up. These were trifold, 11 inch by 17 inch programs which provided information for the week. Named Weekly Information Guide, the cover would sometimes indicate a special program/acknowledgement occurring that Sunday. Inside would be Ministry activities for the week, Ministry announcements, Diaconate & Care Group leaders with contact information, ministerial staff with contact information, upcoming events and a place for you to take sermon notes. During Covid, this information and more became accessible on Realm for easy access.

Once some of the restrictions of Covid-19 were lifted, we were able to return to the sanctuary with a minimal number of worshippers for in-person worship on Easter Sunday 2021. Protocols were in place as protective measures. Those planning to attend were asked to pre-register on Realm. After going through masking, temperature checks and hand sanitizing, screeners checked people in to enter the sanctuary. The Pastor was behind plexi-glass in the pulpit and so was the choir behind plexi-glass in the choir stand. Pews were labelled for occupancy based on the number of people in a party. Distance was maintained between pews and those seated.

Historical Fact #144
With the advent of the COVID-19 virus, since we were already doing Facebook Live for the sermon portion of our 10:30 worship service, we were able to quickly pivot by using Facebook Live and YouTube to show our 10:30 am worship service and use Zoom for Sunday School and ministry meetings. Initially musical selections were performed from home by our Minister of Music (Rafeal Ross) and sermons were done by Pastor Donalson. Attached are photos of Sunbeams and IPE at their final performance prior to the COVID-19 shutdown.
