Get In Position (John 6)

When Jesus fed 5000 at the Sea of Tiberius, the Bible never said that He multiplied the resources, but somehow the people ate as much as they wanted to. The story also never mentioned the name of the boy the food originally belonged to. But I wonder---what was his thoughts after this miracle? This boy came to this location with the resources that Jesus needed, however, it had no impact in his hands, because it had not yet been anointed for God’s work. The young boy probably didn’t mean to be used to bless so many people, but he was is position to do so. Sometimes in order for us to be used by God, we just need to be in the right position and be willing to just give a little so God can turn it into a lot. God may not ask for a lot, but as you see in the story, a small sacrifice can equal an abundant blessing.

If you want to beIMPACTED and IMPACT others, start with just being in position with a sacrificial heart (Luke 6:38).

Motivational Moment – By Dre Davis (MPBC – Young Adult)

How many people do you know, or even yourself, that all it takes is the blink of an eye to cause them to doubt? I like to call this “Groundhog Theory”. All it takes is for something not to go as planned and they instantly jump back to their former situation, being their hole. Nothing good can come from this hole. You’re just as vulnerable in this hole; and you can’t grow in this hole.

Let’s talk about the groundhog known as Israel. When Israel fled Egypt, they were happy to be leaving, but when trouble pursued them, they cursed Moses and looked at their past situation as if it were actually more beneficial. But after much seeking and complaining, “. . .the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!”(Exodus 14:15).

Just like Israel, we have trouble pursuing us. We have the choice to either jump back in the hole or to simply get moving and get away from what’s coming. The world is telling you that you are ok where you’re at. The world tells you that success is for everyone else but you. The world is saying that it is normal to be stuck in complacency. But 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 confirms that there is pressure in the pursuit of purpose. God doesn’t expect for you to always be strong. Paul testifies to this (2 Corinthians 12). You will have trouble in your daily battles, but I dare you to choose purpose over procrastination and just get moving! Your path is already prepared for you (Isaiah 42:16).
