“You Can’t Win the RACE, Being Out of PLACE”
1 Corinthians 12:14-20
SERMON TAKE-AWAY FROM YESTERDAY:
1. Knowing Your Assignment
- God has given each believer a specific role and purpose. Success comes from embracing what God called you to do, not what He called someone else to do.
“But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.” (verse 18)
2. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
- Comparison creates frustration and can cause you to abandon your assignment. The foot is just as valuable as the hand, and the ear is just as important as the eye.
3. Every Position Has Purpose
- Not everyone is called to preach, sing, teach, or lead. Some are called to serve, encourage, pray, give, and support. Every role matters in God’s kingdom.
4. Stay Faithful Where God Placed You
- Promotion comes from faithfulness, not ambition. Before God elevates you, He expects you to be effective in your current assignment.
5. Unity Requires Different Functions
- A healthy church is not built on everyone doing the same thing; it is built on everyone doing their part. The body works best when each member functions in their God-given place.
6. Being Out of Place Creates Confusion
- When people operate outside their calling, confusion and disorder follow. God’s design is order, not competition.
7. Your Lane Is Connected to Your Grace
- God equips you for the assignment He gives you. When you stay in your lane, you operate under God’s grace, strength, and anointing.
Pastor Wooten’s entire overview of the sermon:
You cannot fulfill someone else’s calling and successfully fulfill your own at the same time. The race is won when every believer stays in their God-ordained place, serves faithfully, and functions effectively within the Body of Christ.
