There is going to be a Cemetery Board Meeting at the cemetery this Saturday, September 15th at 11am followed by a potluck lunch. If you are interested in the ongoing upkeep and maintenance of Clark Cemetery please attend this meeting and see what the board is doing and bring a dish and share a great lunch with us. Our Spring business meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 27th at 11am. If you are interested in Clark Cemetery or have any family buried there you are invited to come. We will discuss general business and maintenance and upkeep plans for the summer at this meeting. Please plan to attend!

Through the 1950's and into the 60's many improvements were made at Clark Cemetery. Signs which still are in place were put at the entrance, a shelter was built, picnic tables, and a outhouse all that still remain were built. The Clark School & Clark Family reunions were relocated to the Clark Cemetery park area and were used for many years for large gatherings. Some people still use the park for a quiet picnic still today.

In the late 1940's to early 1950's a group of descendants of those buried in Clark cemetery who were mainly living in Kansas City began to develop a plan and collect funds to reclaim Clark Cemetery from the wilderness and put into place a plan, funds, and a board to oversee the long term upkeep of the cemetery.

Did you know that in 1930 descendants of some of those buried in Clark Cemetery discovered the cemetery in horrible condition?! It was overgrown, the road was nearly impassable, fencing was degraded, and many headstones were in horrible condition. There were no funds or a board to oversee or manage maintenance or upkeep of the cemetery.

Clark Cemetery is likely named after the family with the some of the earliest graves in the cemetery in the 1860's. The Clark family likely owned the property where the cemetery is located. There was also a Clark school located near the current entrance to the cemetery.
