Feast of Corpus Christi, History and
The Corpus Christi procession is a public act of Catholic worship where the Blessed Sacrament (the consecrated Host: the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ) is carried through the streets in a monstrance. Catholics participate to visibly profess their faith, thank God for the Eucharist, and physically take Christ into their everyday communities
It is a way to step outside the walls of the church and publicly proclaim belief in the Real Presence of Jesus, showing that faith is meant for the public square as well as private prayer.

The procession reflects the reality of the Christian life. By following the Eucharist through the neighborhood, believers physically and symbolically follow Jesus as pilgrims traveling through earthly life toward heaven.

Carrying the Eucharist through local streets is seen as a way to bless the community, asking God to bring grace, healing, and salvation to the homes, businesses, and daily routines of the people.

While Mass is the celebration of the Eucharist, the procession allows for prolonged adoration and adoration-in-motion. It provides a dedicated time for joyful hymns, prayers, and public thanksgiving for the gift of Holy Communion.

This Feast unites us as one Body of Christ!
