With grieving hearts, yet steadfast hope in Christ, we share the passing of our beloved sister Sandra L. Douglas–Schmidt, who entered the presence of Jesus on February 28, 2026.

Sandy was a devoted and active member of New Life Church in Herkimer. She faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher and lived out her faith through compassion, generosity, and a true servant’s heart.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00–6:00 PM at Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 527 E. Albany St., Herkimer, NY. A Christian service will follow at 6:00 PM in the funeral home's chapel. A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held afterward at the Herkimer VFW on Mohawk Street. Please continue to lift Michael and the entire Douglas–Schmidt family in prayer.
