Coronavirus Update

In cooperation with federal recommendations regarding the coronavirus, the Kansas District Retreat Center will continue to receive reservations for parties of ten or less through April 30. Reservations that are cancelled during this time period will receive a full refund. In response to CDC recommendations on COVID-19 for hygienic applications for the hospitality industry, Retreat Center cleaning staff continue to use bleach or peroxide-based cleaning methods for towels and bedding, including comforters and bedspreads. Extra diligence is being directed to surfaces including light switches, faucet and door handles, appliance buttons, etc. We hope you enjoy your stay, but we understand that your plans may change due to recent developments. Thank you for your continued patronage!

So...we've had just a but of rain over the past week or so! The lake is very high and flooding out the roads around it. The Center is high and dry so no worries there, but praying that we get some relief from the constant storms!

Took a drive around Lake Herington yesterday! This is the lake our center overlooks. This is Herington's smaller lake, but as you can see, there is plenty of room for hiking, fishing, and daydreaming! Bring your canoes and kayaks along of you have them! I can also tell that they've been working on our swim beach for the season already. I can't wait to bring our kids out in a few short weeks!

The area has finally been blessed with some great rain! We were getting a little worried about the lake, but it is getting filled up again! The hills of Central Kansas are so beautiful and green right now.

Spring has sprung and things are starting to wake up at the lake! We saw two herons today and the fish were jumping! And the sunsets....well, there's just no comparing sunsets when you're at the lake!
