My name is Joe Cash, I’m an Extreme lover of God and love His Word! I have been a One Year bible reader for
many years. In late 2004 I connected with the Noah Webster Bible through a software called “e-sword®” developed
by Rick Meyers. Besides his dictionary, Webster also released his own translation of the Bible in 1833. In doing the
translation, Webster used the King James Version as a base. He
consulted the Hebrew and Greek along with
various other versions and commentaries. Webster molded the KJV to correct grammar, replaced words that were
no longer used, and did away with words and phrases that could be seen as offensive. This One – Year Study bible is for the EXTREME! If you are a One Year Bible readers who appreciates the KJV flow with
incredible input from Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary all the way through, you are in for a blessed treat! This bible is broken down into 365 daily readings. If one were to just read the scripture references without reading the
Matthew Henry Concise Commentary (MHCC) notes, the reading takes an average of 20 – 30 minutes a day. As mentioned
above, the entire reading with the (MHCC) notes will double if not triple the allotted time. If that seems a little extreme, I
encourage the reader to simply do a brief recording of what you do with your day. Take the time to see what your doing with
your time. Jesus had the same 24 hour a day time allotment we have today. With slight differences with the Jewish calendar
he conquered death for eternity in three and a half years. In roughly 30,660 hours HE secured eternity for each one of us. In
Luke 2:49 as a twelve year old boy Jesus set the record straight with his parents that He was set on a life course on doing His
Father’s business. At twelve years of age Jesus was a forerunner of managing His time aligning His allotted 24 hour day with
the Father’s business. In a time of virtual instant information by way of the internet, a click of the mouse brings information streaming in staggering
portions faster and faster everyday. Fast food and caffeine fuel us rocketing in a world that continues to demand even more
faster. Devotion to God’s word is rebelling to conform to this pattern. Professionl athletes and Hollywood stars are paid
millions of dollars each year to capture our attention long enough to keep us spending more time and money to see there next
move. If your like me time SLIPS AWAY FASTER AND FASTER EVERY DAY. Get EXTREME with God! In John 4, Jesus’ disciples return after His encounter with the Samaritan woman concerned about
His hunger, they knew He had been without food for quite some time. Jesus simply returns their concern with His INNER
fullness of being satisfied inwardly even to the extent of being full by doing His Father’s will. This stunned their natural
understanding of hunger. Extreme devotional study of God’s word increases our spiritual hunger as we meditate upon His
Word. God’s Word is a banqueting table set before us to eat in the face of our enemies (Psalm 23:5). It truly is the spiritual food that
satisfies deep places (Psalm 119:40). Please approach this with GRACE! Even if you turn it into a an extended study plan,
you will have gained immense blessing by investing time in His Word and delighting yourself in the Lord (Psalm 37:4). There is some introductory information about Noah Webster and the 1833 Webster Revision he wrote. Following his section
there is also some information on Matthew Henry’s life, and his Commentary he left as his impartation to the body of Christ. Each daily reading includes an Old Testament, New Testament, Psalm, and Proverb reading. They vary in there length so do a
brief lookover on each daily reading to pace your self for your time that day. As stated above, don’t feel pressed to rush. If you
read the scripture section first, you can come back to the MHCC readings that really capture your heart for deeper
understanding. In the 365 readings, the book of Psalms is gone through twice. On the second time through I ommited the
(MHCC) so, for (MHCC) see notes on the same reference when it was gone through the first time. If you have the CD or
download on your computer you can simply print out one day at a time or put a months worth in a three ring binder. The
margins are set so that you can journal your own notes and thoughts as the Holy Spirit illuminates what He is showing you for
the given passage. My true inspiration in this project was Ms. Bernice West, my receptionist in Aiken, South Carolina. She gives most of her free time to reading God's Word. I asked her one day if she had ever read a commentary to go along with her devotions and she simply said, I would if it was attached to my readings. When I finished this and showed it to her she just got teary eyed and jumped right in. I have always respected Noah Webster's love for the English language and chose his Bible out of respect for his work and that it was in public domain. I went through Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary while going to Bible College in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was also in public domain and available in Rick Meyer's "e-sword" and that is what I used to compile both works together here. I hope and pray you enjoy it as much as Ms. Bernice has. Many Jesus blessings to all, with much love,
Joe Cas
