This past Sunday, Pastor Eric preached from Mark 2 and reminded us that faith is often seen in ordinary acts of love and persistence.

The friends in this story refused to let obstacles keep someone from Jesus.

May we be the kind of people who notice those in need, show up for one another, and help point others toward Christ.

June 14, 2026 Sermon: “Carry the Mat”
Mark 2:1–12 -Rev. Eric Hendrickson

Today we continued our Beyond Church series with a challenge from Mark 2.

Four friends saw someone who couldn’t get to Jesus on his own.

Instead of walking away, they picked up a corner of the mat.

They carried him.

They persisted.

They found another way.

And because they did, a life was changed.

One of the biggest takeaways from today:

Faith isn’t always having the answers. Sometimes faith is helping carry the weight.

Who needs encouragement?

Who needs a phone call?

Who needs a prayer?

Who needs someone willing to show up and help carry the load?

There is still room.

And sometimes the reason people find their place at the table is because somebody cared enough to carry a corner of the mat.
