Welcome to dinner, Church!
See below for some commonly asked questions about Dinner Church, a new type of church offered by Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
Where is Dinner Church?
-Dinner Church meets every Tuesday from 6-7pm at the West End Civic Association at 8600 Lakefront Dr, Henrico. Dinner is served to you at 6:10pm!
What’s the cost/Do I sign up?
-No cost, no donation requests of any kind, and no sign ups. Drop in any Tuesday you’re available!
Do I have to live in the neighborhood to attend?
-Absolutely not! Anyone is welcome at Dinner Church; we have attendees from Henrico, Mechanicsville, Goochland, Hanover, and Chesterfield!
What’s the “church” part?
-Dinner Church is a new community of
Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, your neighborhood Methodist church. At Dinner Church, you can expect one song after dinner; typically a contemporary Christian song with a live musician whenever possible. After the song, we have a short (~5 minute) Jesus story or relatable and life-applicable Christian message and a prayer. Messages are positive and appropriate for all ages.
Who comes?
-Everyone! We have individuals, friends, coworkers, and families of all types. We are especially delighted to have some of the neighborhood kids helping us with set up and returning with family to eat!
I don't really go to church. Will I be uncomfortable?
-No! We want your experience at Dinner Church to be a positive and uplifting time for you. The bulk of our time together is casual conversation around the table. We want you to leave feeling the warmth of community friendship, the satisfaction of a full stomach, and the joy of a positive message. There is nothing "formal" you need to know to be comfortable at Dinner Church!
