Friday’s with Pastor Ken Volume 20 September 4th, 2026

I have set you before me
Psalm 16:7

Our focus, our meaning, our purpose is in totality who we are in God. How does He see us? How do we see Him?

Let’s look first at how God sees us?
He made us in His image (Genesis 1:27). We are a triune being (body, soul, spirit) just as God is Triune (God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit) do you see the correlation? God-soul (who He is), Jesus-body (Live and die as the perfect sacrifice), and Holy Spirit-spirit (sent to dwell in our hearts when we repent). God says of Himself in Exodus I AM Who I AM (Exodus 3:14), He is the Self-Existent One. God is who He is because He never changes (Malachi 3:6). He is holy and deserving of our praise (Psalm 145:3). He is merciful (Lamentations 3:22–23) He is kind (Psalm 145:9) He is good (Nahum 1:7) His love is everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3) He is patient (Psalm 86:15) so that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9) so that He can show His grace to you (Ephesians 2:8) through His Son, Jesus Christ.

The gift of His Son was, is, and ever shall be the greatest gift bestowed upon mankind. It is through the sacrifice of the God-Man, fully God and fully man (Philippians 2:7; 1 Timothy 2:5). Holy God Himself (John 17:5). Gave Himself willingly to die on a cross (John 10:18) to give us eternal life and restore us to a right relationship with God.

And due to that death on the cross of Calvary, God sees us through the blood of Christ, the ransom (Matthew 20:28) for our sin. When God looks at a repent soul, He sees the righteousness of Jesus. God poured out His full wrath for sin on Jesus at Calvary (Romans 5:9) so that we could be redeemed. One day we will all stand in the presence of God to be judged, some the redeemed of the Lord are and forever will be without condemnation (Romans 8:1), those who have believed and put their faith in Jesus will hear the words “well done good and faithful one, enter into your Father’s rest”(Matthew 25:23). Those who have not believed and placed their faith and hope in Him are already judged (John 3:18) and will here the saddest words ever uttered, “depart from Me, I never knew you” (Matthew 7:21-23).

How do we see God?
Through Jesus (John 14:9), He walked among us (John 1:14), He showed us He is God through His miracles (John 10:32). Ever notice that His enemies never denied His miracles?

Not only because of His miraculous signs and wonders should be believe, but we should believe because of His willingness to die. He had no need to die for His sin (2 Corinthians 5:21) but He died for me and you who were born in iniquity (Psalm 51:5). He raised the dead, He healed all diseases and the greatest miracle He ever did was conquering death and hell through His resurrection from the grave. He defeated death so we could have eternal life with Him (Romans 4:25). Because He resurrected from the grave so shall those of us who have believed in Him be resurrected (1 Corinthians 15:20-22; Romans 8:11).

He is a saving God (Psalm 68:20) and He proved it.

Come let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18)
I love you
Pastor Ken

You are my Portion
Psalm 16:5-6

How satisfying it is to know that the Lord is our portion, we are a part of God’s family because of His willingness to die of on the Cross (John 10:18) and because He has given us the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts (Ephesians 1:13). He has provided all that we need in order to be “a living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1) to our holy God and live our lives for Him and to glorify Him (Isaiah 43:7).

We are called “children of God” because of His mercy and His grace upon our sinful souls and it is His work that brings us to Him (John 6:44) and secures us (Ephesians 4:30). He truly if our portion and our strength, we are weak but He is strong (2 Corinthians 12:9). His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23) and it is His faithfulness that salvation is based upon. He hold us in His hand and none can sn**ch us from it (John 10:28).

He is my inheritance

He has lain out the boundaries of His love, and in the Old Testament we are told that love is everything to everlasting (Psalm 103:17). Notice in that verse it indicates to “those who fear Him” and that fear means the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 9:10) real reverential awe of who He is, that He is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16)and we are not (Romans 3:10-12). So, you may ask, “How can I be holy?” Through the shed blood of Christ! That is the Gospel (2 Corinthians 2:2).

He is my cup

My cup overflows with joy because if know His love, His faithfulness and His way for my life. I know that He will not let the righteous die and dwell in Sheol (Psalm 16:10). And I know that He has prepared a place for me and will come back to get me (John 14:2-3). How glorious that time will be when I see my Savior as He calls me home! Now that is cup that overflows!

You are my lot

He has appointed, given a lot (a portion an inheritance) to us in Christ even before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). He knew we would fail, but He sent One who would not, the Lord Jesus (Hebrews 4:15). He knows all things (Isaiah 46:10), and He knows if you passionately love Him or if you do lip service (Matthew 15:8).

Indeed my inheritance is beautiful

He provides for me daily (Philippians 4:19), He protects me daily (Isaiah 41:10), and He loves me for an eternity (Lamentations 3:22). That is true beauty and a beauty only He can give.

Do you know this Salvation? Do you know this love? Do you know this assurance?

Come let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18)
I love you, enough to tell you the truth
