Cut Off From the Root
Proverbs 2:22

Judgment
Judgment is sure for all (Ecclesiastes 12:14) and His judgment must be meted out due to His character (Deuteronomy 32:4). A holy God must judge in order to be holy. He will not dwell with sin (Psalm 5:4). You and I are commanded in Scripture to be obedience not sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). God is looking for hearts that are turned to Him (Deuteronomy 6:4-5). When we are not seeking God in our lives we are in rebellion and will suffer eternal separation from God (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

Where is the Hope?

Our only hope is in Christ alone (1 Timothy 2:5) He is the answer to the question of how man can dwell with God, “He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. In Him is found all the attributes of God (Colossians 2:9) Jesus said, “If you have seen me you have seen the Father (John 14:9) in proclaiming Himself to be God!

All Judgment
John 5:22

Jesus because of His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary, His “emptying Himself out (Colossians 2:7) temporarily becoming (Hebrews 2:9-10) lover than the angels, although He created them (Colossians 1:16). He humbled Himself even yo death on cross (Philippians 2:8) the perfect sacrifice for our sins (1 Peter 1:18-19).

Life after death
Luke 16:19-31

Notice that when the rich man died he immediately was “tormented” in the flames, where as Lazarus was comported. If you live long enough in this world you will die. And then comes the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

The Question that you and I must answer

Do you KNOW Jesus? Not just in intellectual ascent but do you KNOW Him as your Savior, Master, Lord and God? As the old hymn says, “He is the Mighty King, Master of Everything...Jesus my Lord.”

There is a day coming when He will recognize or deny knowing you we find that in Matthew 7:21-23
The most dreadful words to ever hear:

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [a]miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

Or the greatest proclamation you will ever here in Matthew 25:21
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.”

He Knows His Sheep
In ancient days shepherds would keep their sheep in large pins when they visited towns and here is the remarkable thing about when they went to retrieve them. The shepherd had given them names and he would call to them and when they heard his voice they came to him, on one else.

Our Great Shepherd knows our name! And He will call us forth to glory(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) in fact He will give you a new name (Revelation 2:17).

Will you be “cut off” or be s shoot from the stump of Jessie (Isaiah 11:1)? Jesus is the shoot (Romans 15:12). He has given us a New Covenant in His blood (Luke 22:20) for without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Hebrews 9:22). It is the will of God to save all men (2 Peter 3:9). The gift of salvation is free (Ephesians 2:8-9). Repent and turn from your evil ways (2 Chronicles 7:14). The Lord Jesus came with a message of repentance (Matthew 4:17). Here His voice today for it is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2)!

What is "Medical Assisted Su***de?" The continued degredation of human life. First we had abortion and this was codified through the Supreme Court, who for the first time in history...made law not just interpret.

Where will this lead? To rid ourselves of those who are "not a benefit to society." The informed and those who are seen as burdens.

The Kind Intention of His Will
Ephesians 1:5

Paul tells us that God “predestined” us. Some use this verse to say that God chooses who will be saved and who will not before the foundation of the world. However, according to the Bible “whosoever will” can have eternal life through Christ (John 3:16). I have never been able to get past this simple, profound, everlasting promise of God!.

I simply cannot fathom a loving saving God (Psalm 68:20) before we are even knit in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) that He “predestined” you for hell. In fact the Bible goes on to proclaim that hell was and is meant for Satan and his demonic angelic beings (Matthew 25:41). He, our Creator God did not breath life into man (Genesis 2:7) just to send him to hell. He breath life into man to “glorify Himself” (John 17:10) and to give eternal life. We have choices in life, if we don’t someone needs to explain the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to me (Genesis 2:16-17). Adam and Eve had a choice, to follow of Holy God or believe the serpent. They made a choice and so has every other man or woman in their lives. Serve God and live or rebel and die.

God knew before He formed Adam out of dirt that Adam would fail. You ask, “How do you know?” He knows all things, that is why we have the promise of Genesis 3:15:

“And I will make enemies
Of you and the woman,
And of your offspring and her Descendant;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

This is known as the protoevangelium—the first gospel. The promise of the Expected One? Jesus goes on to answer unequivocally YES (Luke 18-23)! There is no other, Jesus came seek and to save (Luke 19:10).

God’s Kind Intention while we were yet sinners
Romans 5:8

God will is that “not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.(2 Peter 3:9).” Take note of the word “all” it simply means all, nothing more, nothing less. The Salvation that Christ provided on the Cross is for “all men.” Jesus Himself said, “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself” (John 12:32). This is reiterated in John 6:44, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.”

God knows all things (Isaiah 46:10). He knows the hearts of man (1 Samuel 16:7) He searches the heart (Luke 16:15) and the heart of man, which is evil (Jeremiah 17:9) can only be changed by Him by giving us a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26) and create a clean heart (Psalm 51:10) with new desires, not of this world by a heart for righteousness (Romans 10:10). Paul says in Romans 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may approve what the will of God is, that which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

How is this achieved you may ask?

By the renewing of your mind through the Word of God (Ephesians 5:26). We are called to have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). To be like Jesus, to walk the Way Jesus walked, to talk the Way Jesus talked, to live the Way Jesus lived, WE MUST read the book! We are to consume the Word of God (Jeremiah 15:16) the Word of God (John 1:1) changes us from the inside out (Psalm 119:11). His Word is sweeter than honey (Psalm 119:103) and profitable for teaching (warning of consequences) a man, for reproving (convicting), correction (to set right), and training (right and wrong) (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Doctrine, core beliefs, are important, they are foundational to you understanding the Word of God. And this is the message I want to convey to you today; without reading the Word you have no chance of understanding the Word and thus no chance of the Word changing your life.

He, our Lord and Savior is the Word (John 1:14) He became flesh and He came down to us so that He could save us from our sin (1Timothy 1:15).

I love you,

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of freedom, and we are forever grateful for their courage and dedication.

Working out your salvation?
Philippians 2:12-13

False teachers love to use this verse to say that salvation comes by our works, this is especially prevalent in the Pentecostal movement. Avoid Joseph Prince, Creflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis, Kenneth Copland. These along with many others preach that your faith and giving are more important than grace.

The Scripture is spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14), but the above named interpret this Scripture without discernment, they interpret it to say what they want it say instead of what the Holy Spirt is actually saying. They use eisegesis to impose their own ideas onto a text to justify a position they already hold into the Word of God instead of carefully and with skillfully studying the Word. But we are called to carefully to Exegete (the original, intended meaning out of a text rather than reading their own subjective biases into it) letting the Scripture interpret the Scripture.

As students of the Word of God we need to ask ourselves; how did the church at Corinth interpret this message from Paul, and how what does it mean to the church today? Salvation is through Grace alone (Ephesians 2:8-9)! As my brother in the Lord, Mike Rowe, is found of saying, “We are doing the work of building the Kingdom until He comes:”

Corinth
Our role in Salvation is to respond to a Holy God who “draws us to Himself” (John 6:44) and in doing so see our need for Savior (Romans 3:10, 23) repent (Mark 1:15) and follow Christ (Matthew 4:19). When we repent and follow Christ our lives are different than before. We are to go in different direction, our lives are changed. We are renewed (2 Corinthians 5:17), we are not the same person we were before we encounter a Holy God who loved us so much that He willingly died for us.

Due to the fact that we are His and He is ours we want and desire to bring glory to Him and Him alone in all things we do (1 Corinthians 10:31) and as the Psalmist said “for His name sake” (Psalm 23:3).

Like any relationship you have in life, God is calling those whom He loves and forgives to be active in spreading the Good News of the Gospel message, that He has already provided His salvation for “whosoever will” call upon the Lord can be saved (John 3:16).

And these are the beliefs and doctrine of the early church.

The church today
Should we be dissuaded in any way from what the church believed in the first century? As Paul would say;“May it never be!”(Romans 6:2).

“Fear is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10).

It is that awe of God, that He would sacrificed Himself for us even while we were yet His enemy, Christ died on the cross for our sin (Romans 5:8).

We are told to die to self (Galatians 2:20) to live for Christ alone, that was our forefathers belief and is now ours! It is this “fear and trembling” (reverence" or "respect) that Paul refers to the knowledge of His great mercy and grace granted unto us at Calvary and by the sending of the Holy Spirit to dwell in us (Ephesians 1:13) to convict us of our sin (John 6:13), to teach us (John 14:26) and lead us to understanding that the work wrote in us is due to His efforts alone and that we because of His magnificent gift of mercy and grace compels us to proclaim the message of salvation to a lost and dying world. And it is in His strength that we are used of God.

The Psalmist (Psalm 2:11) sums it up perfectly: “Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.” We work out our salvation by going to the very source of our salvation—the Word of God—wherein we renew our hearts and minds (Romans 12:1-2), coming into His presence with a spirit of reverence and awe.

Obedience
Philippians 2:12

Samuel said, “Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams” (1 Samuel15:22).

Is God looking for your sacrifice in order to save you? The answer is no, God wants you to walk to His Word (James 1:22), to read His Word (Hebrews 4:12) and to internalize His Word (Psalm 119:11). If we read, walk and internalize the Word of God then we will be in the will of God (Colossians 1:9-12).

The works of man in the eyes of God are “like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). Your works are not needed (Ephesians 2:9) but someone who is saved does have good works (1 Corinthians 15:58). It is His works through you that are “wonderful” in the eyes of God (Psalm 139:14).

It is God who sought you out (John 6:44) but we are commanded to “seek Him while He may be found”(Isaiah 55:6) with all our heart (Jeremiah 29:13). When we come to Christ have to see a need for a Savior in our lives. We must see what sin is evil and destructive. That living our lives outside the will of God will be judged (Ecclesiastes 12:14). And it is the “fear” the “awe” that brings us real wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), the truth that “the hearts of man are evil at all times” (Genesis 6:5). But is we recognize our need we have a Savior that is willing to save us from our sin (John 10:17-18). He is a saving God who wipes away every sin and cleanses us with His blood, there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood (Hebrews 9:22) and He gave it all on the Cross! Our sin debt was paid in full (John 19:30).

What does it require of you o’ man?

“and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30). Seek Him and He will find you! He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). If you are following Jesus the desires of your heart will not be for worldly things (1 John 2:15-17), it will be for others to know Him (Matthew 28:19-20) and have the assurance of eternal life with Christ (Ephesians 1:13-14). The Spirit of God dwelling in us is the “arrabṓn” the price (pledge), the promise of “paid in full” for the Bride of Christ His church.

To obey Him is to know Him. He is a rewarder of those who follow Him. He is a merciful God, a forgiving God but in His mercy and forgiveness He does expect us to turn around, not to follow the same path we were on. But to follow the path that He walked. He is the One who lights that path (Psalm 119:105). We are no longer “children of darkness” (Ephesians 5:8) when we come to Christ Jesus.

“Come let us reason together” (Isaiah 1:18)
I love you
