Weare / Henniker Quaker Meeting

Weare / Henniker Quaker Meeting Friends believe that we can directly experience that of God within ourselves and each other.

All Friends’ practices, witness, and testimonies stem from this basic belief. God calls us to live out peace, equality, simplicity, truthfulness and justice, as well as the right use and enjoyment of the blessings of earth and human life. Our ancient meetinghouse, built in 1799, reminds us that Quakerism's listening discipleship has stood the test of experience in many lives, for more than 350 years.

We are so grateful to have had Betty Straw as part of our Meeting for so long, even celebrating her 100th birthday with her last Fall. She died on Easter Sunday. Her long life, both as a Quaker and as an historian, was a gift to us all. We will be celebrating her in a Memorial Meeting in the manner of Friends at our meetinghouse (529 Quaker Street, Henniker) on May 23rd at 10:30 a.m., followed by fellowship and food. All are welcome.
