May 31, 2026 Worship Service – Holy Trinity Sunday
■ Pastor Chuck Shingledecker and Pastor Sara Shingledecker jointly lead worship. Our new instrumental ensemble accompanies the first hymn. In his sermon, Pastor Chuck points to Holy Trinity Sunday as an annual reminder of the three fundamental realities of how God has been revealed to humanity throughout history – as Father, Son, and Spirit. Our worship also includes Scripture, prayer, and Holy Communion.

May 24, 2026 Worship Service – The Day of Pentecost
■ We celebrate with balloons! Pastor Chuck’s sermon looks at the multiple meanings of the word “pentecost.” Today, we remember that the Holy Spirit – God’s very presence – is among us, with us, and within you. He uses references to the movie “The Lion King” as part of his message. Our women’s chorus offers an anthem and worship includes Scripture, prayer, song, and Supper.

Once again we see the Apostles misunderstanding the sort of Kingdom which Jesus is establishing and how we, as his followers, are to be active in the world. May 10, 2026 Worship Service – 6th Sunday of Easter
■ Our men’s chorus sings acappella following the psalm reading. Pastor Chuck’s sermon centers on Jesus’ farewell message to his disciples before Ascension and his promise to send the paraclete – the Spirit which is God’s divine force in the world – to bring us into an intimate relationship with the Father and the Son. We also share hymns, Scripture, prayer, and the Lord’s Supper.

■ Today’s service includes special recognition and blessings of our graduating high school seniors. Pastor Chuck’s sermon focuses on Jesus’ gospel statement that he is “the way and the truth and the life.” Too often Christians use these words to count someone “in” or “out” of God’s kingdom. Instead, we should see these as words of comfort and insights into Jesus’ as the Incarnation. Our men’s choir assists in worship and we share Scripture, prayer, and the Lord’s Supper.

SENIOR RECOGNITION at Christ Lutheran will be Sunday, May 3, during the 9am service. Quilts will be presented by WELCA to each Senior and there will be cake celebrating all seniors during coffee hour, following the service. We hope that everyone will be able to join us.
