'Hello everyone! Meet our Young Adult UK Missions Team🇬🇧

We had the privilege to serve alongside Frinton Free Church for Frinton Mission. This week is a large mission week where multiple churches come together to create ample opportunities for the communities of Frinton and Walton, England to hear the gospel!

We spent majority of our time serving on the Kids Two team, a group of over 150 8-11 year olds. Mornings consisted of worship, a lesson, small groups, messy games, and loads of fun! In the afternoons, we hosted recreation activities, craft opportunities, and one afternoon we had a “deeper session” where kids learned more about Jesus and brought any questions they had! Nights ended with outreach events, gospel conversations, and worship gatherings.

Our hearts are so full meeting our friends in Frinton. God is on the move, and we’re praying that we continue to see generations and eternities changed because of this missions week!

We would love you to join us in prayer for our brothers and sisters “across the pond." Matthew 9:37. We love you, and we can’t wait for 2027! 🫶🏼'

LOS ANGELES, CA YOUNG ADULT TRIP RECAP 🌇🌴

The small group of Long Hollow Young Adults Missions Team is home from California, but we're bringing home so much more than luggage.

The purpose of this trip was simple:

+ To open our eyes to the spiritual needs of people and cultures different from our own—and to prayerfully consider whether God might stir someone on our team to serve in or even help plant a church one day.

+ To encourage the pastors, staff, and volunteers faithfully serving at Echo Church.

+ To learn what church planting looks like firsthand.

+ To serve alongside the incredible GenSend team as they spend their summer living on mission.

Throughout the week we encouraged church leaders, prayed over Los Angeles from Griffith Observatory—asking God to help us see the city not as millions of people, but as individuals He deeply loves—canvassed neighborhoods inviting people to a worship night, and helped serve at that gathering where more than 50 people came together. We also saw something beautiful.

Echo Church isn't just a church plant from Long Hollow—they've become a sending church, already helping plant other churches and investing in future church planters. What an incredible picture of the gospel multiplying.

One thing I have to say: Don't believe the narrative that God isn't moving in California. We met people who passionately love Jesus, faithfully serve Him, and genuinely care for their communities. God is powerfully at work there, and it was a privilege to witness it firsthand.

We left California (and yes...our favorite Airbnb lemon tablecloth), but we brought home something far greater—a renewed love for God's Church, a deeper burden for people who need Jesus, and hearts inspired to faithfully make disciples wherever He calls us.

Thank you, Echo Church, GenSend, Jason & Rachel Polk, and every volunteer who welcomed, encouraged, and served alongside us. You have left a lasting mark on our hearts.

He is so good. ❤️

LONDON, UK DAY SIX RECAP 🇬🇧

"We took a bus tour today to the Cotswolds and Oxford. I had several mini heart attacks before I remembered they drive on the other side of the road here!

The beauty and historic architecture is almost too much to take in in one day. It was a fun day of looking in old churches, wandering through shops, and eating good food with our team. We met the pastor of Shepherd’s church and his wife at our new favorite Italian restaurant in Knotting Hill and had a sweet farewell dinner with them. We even saw our favorite waiter Fabio one more time!

Tomorrow we will wake up bright and early and start our long trek home. It’s really been such an incredible week of new experiences and opportunities for everyday ministry. I’ve learned a lot about how to love and connect with people by working with Shepherd’s church. I hope to take a bit of their passion and strategy to reach people back with me to the states."

LONDON, UK: DAY FIVE RECAP

"My second daughter and I share a room, and each morning we’ve made a tradition of coming down a few minutes before our team meets and sitting in the window of the local coffee shop to people watch. I feel like I could make a career from this little window as a street fashion Pinterest blogger! There is every kind of person walking down the streets here at any time. It makes the pastor’s statement to us earlier this week ring so true- London is a place where you can meet every tribe and nation, and speak to them in English. And I’ve learned it’s bonus points when you can speak to them in a southern accent!

Today for our mission focus, we set up a booth near an underground station and offered free Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee to people. We shared information about Shepherd’s Church and upcoming events, and had many conversations about Jesus. I was impressed with how gently but directly the pastor and his wife were able to share their faith with strangers! It was also such a blessing to be a part of God’s work in the city of London."

LONDON, UK: DAY FOUR RECAP

"Today, we had a slow morning walking through the Chelsea Soccer Club shops. After lunch we met with Cason, one of the pastors at Shepherd’s Church, and went door to door inviting neighbors to an American BBQ next week. Anyone who has canvased a neighborhood before knows it can be challenging- there were many polite British no thank you’s. However, there were many kind connections as well that will hopefully lead to community in White City. It feels like Shepherd’s church mission to reach, love, and tell this community about Jesus is quietly transforming it. We made a point to circle back to the girls’ (and Barrett’s) favorite toy store and get the UK’s best drone, and then promptly flew it over a park fence. To finish the day we visited Buckingham Palace, Platform 9 3/4, and had some incredible Thai food!"

LONDON, UK: DAY THREE RECAP 🇬🇧

"This Sunday morning, the team met at the White City Community Center before church to help set up, and the girls cut fresh flowers from the garden for the church. They were *quite* lovely indeed. After church we had a quick break for lunch and met in the park to give out some ice creams, snacks, and drinks, and play a bit of football (that’s soccer for all you Americans). We spent the afternoon hanging out and talking with all the neighbors that came out. It was a major success at loving the neighborhood and getting to share about Jesus and Shepherd’s Church."

On Saturday, August 1 from 9AM - 2PM in the Hendersonville Student Building, we’re hosting a training for anyone who wants to know how to engage the nations living right here in our community.

We’ll dig into the biblical foundation for cross-cultural ministry, talk through what it actually looks like in everyday life, and give you practical, concrete next steps you can take before the week is over.
