🧱 SLOW CORROSION

Some collapses look sudden.

A marriage falls apart.
Someone walks away from God.
A hidden sin becomes public.
A life that looked strong suddenly begins to crumble.

But often, the collapse wasn’t sudden at all.

The damage had been growing beneath the surface for a long time.

That was Israel’s story. By the time Nehemiah heard that Jerusalem’s walls were broken down, the real problem had been developing for generations. Slowly, God’s people had drifted. Compromise became normal. God’s Word was ignored. What was eventually visible on the outside had already been happening on the inside.

And that gives us an important question:

What might be weakening beneath the surface in me?

Maybe it’s bitterness you’ve allowed to stay.
A compromise you’ve started excusing.
A prayer life that has slowly disappeared.
A relationship pulling you away from Christ.
Something God keeps telling you to deal with that you keep postponing.

Don’t wait for the collapse to deal with the corrosion.

And if something has already fallen apart, remember this:

Ruins don’t scare God.
Failure doesn’t cancel His grace.
Brokenness doesn’t mean He is finished.

God is still in the rebuilding business.

But sometimes before He rebuilds what’s around us, He wants to rebuild what’s within us.

So maybe our prayer today simply needs to be:

“Lord, show me what needs rebuilding in me—and begin there.”

Q: What may be hidden beneath the surface corroding our lives?
Q: Is God trying to put His finger on something in your life you've been quietly ignoring?

Changing circumstances doesn't automatically change hearts.
And...failure doesn't get the Last Word!
"...but God..."
The rebuilding begins in our hearts.
