Our Story
First Baptist Academy is a faith-based, half-day program. We have classes for 3 & 4 year-olds (must be appropriate age by August 31) and a Transitional Kindergarten for 5 year-olds (must be 5 by December 31). Our highly-qualified, experienced teachers know how to prepare children for elementary school. We teach curriculum, that meets current educational standards, from a biblical view. Our students learn about God’s creation and how much He loves them. We also have weekly music and physical education classes. Of course, we also play! Preschool children learn a lot through play and we are careful to make sure that is part of our daily activities. To complement our curriculum, we have touch-enabled interactive projectors in some of our classrooms. We are blessed to be able to offer our students this innovative technology along with traditional preschool activities. This further enhances the teaching capabilities of our staff and the learning experiences of our students. Students interact with the curriculum software to learn phonics, reading, writing and math concepts. Our teachers are experienced in working with preschoolers and have their North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials or higher. All Staff members have been screened through a criminal background check. Teachers have been chosen because of their education, experience, Christian maturity, warmth and nurturing skills. They have many insights into communicating with young parents and are ready to listen and share. It is our desire to strengthen families and to develop the whole child: intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.
