Our Story
Our overarching goal, is to help others come to know the awesome love of their Creator and Heavenly Father. And to be secure in their identity as a beloved son or daughter in Christ Jesus. The Bible calls believers and followers of Jesus Christ Overcomers. We are that already, however many Christian men and women, teens and families are truly struggling. One of the issues that Christians are struggling with is sexuality. For a long time the church, as a whole, has either been silent, hateful or not balanced in its communication on this issue. Our ministry believes that by equipping the Church (Body of Christ) with our personal stories, support groups, workshops, conferences, individual & family counseling we can help God's family to love and understand their community more fully and to live lives fully sacrificed to Jesus. We appreciate your prayers in these efforts and need your support! STAFF- Meleah Allard, Executive Director Bio: Meleah is the daughter of a Southern Baptist Pastor. After becoming pregnant at sixteen, she gave birth to a daughter and then raised her together with her le***an partner for almost a decade. Because of her experiences in the church, she saw God as mean and punitive therefore put her faith on a shelf and ignored Him for many years. At 28, after a work of the Holy Spirit, and coming to know the God of love, grace and mercy, she rededicated her life to Christ and embraced the new life that God was giving her. Since that time she has sought a personal, growing intimacy with Jesus her Savior and God her Father. It is her desire to allow His Holy Spirit to live through her in order to see others come to faith in Christ. Additionally, she has a strong burden and commitment to the discipleship of others so that they can live the abundant life in Christ that she has found. She is also passionate about equipping the church to be a place of hope and healing for all people. Meleah has been married to Mark since 1995 and they have raised three sons and her daughter. Their children are all adults now, who love Jesus and desire to know and follow Him. Meleah and Mark have two beautiful granddaughters through their daughter Tiffany and her husband Josh. Meleah is the Founder and Executive Director of New Beginning Support Ministry which she began in 2005. New Beginning is a 501C3 non-profit ministry. Formerly, Meleah was employed at the local community college as a case manager and job counselor. In 2016, Meleah completed her Biblical Life Coaching Certification through the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services through Montreat College. Meleah has read hundreds of books on topics related to psychology, discipleship, evangelism, Christian growth, parenting, sexuality, gender and related issues. She has read three translations of the Bible (NIV, Living and NKJV) and has completed in depth studies on most books of the Bible. She's been trained in Evangelism Explosion, Share Jesus without Fear and The Way of the Master evangelism programs. Having attended dozens of conferences and workshops across the country in order to be better equipped for her current position, Meleah continues to attend events, take classes and complete certifications through the AACC that enable her to be a better minister of people. In 2006, she was interviewed by the North Carolina Baptist Convention Biblical Recorder and again the following year by a reporter with the convention’s audio magazine called UpClose. She has been interviewed by the local television station as well as radio and print media outlets in Western North Carolina. Most recently, Meleah authored three of the 17 chapters in the Hope For Wholeness curriculum and taped two DVD segments for the same series. More information and previews of teachings can be found at: http://www.hopeforwholeness.com She has spoken publicly and shared her story in churches throughout the Southeast. She has shared on college and high school campuses as well. Most recently the ministry was featured at the North Carolina Baptist State Convention. Meleah loves to teach workshops and has done so at several regional and national conferences and currently leads support groups in Western North Carolina. She has counseled hundreds of individuals and families. Meleah says, “No one signs up for this job. It is a calling, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. It is the most challenging but the most rewarding work of my life!” Meleah has always been passionate about books. She attributes most of the growth and maturity of her life to reading and how God backs the knowledge up with “real world experiences” with Him. Writing a book is a lifelong dream and she hopes to begin hers very soon.
