🙏Praying our Way Through🙏
the Election
We are just a few shorts weeks, even days away from another Presidential election. You would have to be living under a rock to not be aware of the tension, hatred and, vitriol that surrounds us right now. It is coming from both sides, right and left; Christians and non Christians. I don’t know about you ladies, but I am weary from it all. I am ready for it to be over, but then I find myself asking, “Then what?” “What is November 4th going to look like?” “What is 2021 going to look like?” Honestly, this immediately provokes fear and apprehension in my heart.
So, I find myself asking, “Lord, what do you want me to do?” “How am I supposed to endure this?”
The most important stance we need is the one that brings us to our knees. We must PRAY!
*Pray for the Lord to guide you as you fill out this years’ ballot. Seek His Will as we make this important decision for our county, state, and country. Let God, not the news and pundits, direct your vote.
*Pray for those in leadership and potential leadership, even if they are from the “enemy” party.
Paul writes in 1 Timothy that we are to pray for ALL those in authority. He didn’t say, ”Ok, democrats, pray over here for your candidate and republicans, y’all are over here in this area..pray for your candidate.” Nope..we, as Christians, are to pray for ALL those in authority. How much better would our country be if we took this first step?
We are so blessed that many of our leaders are Christians. So, lets commit to pray that they seek the Lord first, asking the Lord to guide their decisions
and actions.
Unfortunately, our government is also led by some that aren’t believers, some that are radically opposed to the Bible. We must be on our knees for these leaders, for their hearts to be softened to the ways of the Lord. Their salvation should be important to us. Pray for eyes that we see these
candidates as children of the Almighty God. They need our prayers. The election process, not to mention, the place of leadership is grueling and without prayers holding these leaders up, they are destined to fall.
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:1-3
*Pray for the outcome of this election.
We need to be seeking God’s plan and will for this country. God and God alone appoints rulers, leaders, and presidents. He alone can also remove these exact same leaders. Remember ladies, God is in control. No matter who wins and loses, God is still on His Throne.
So, when you wake up on November 4, fear creeping in when you turn on the news, remember that God’s got this. He will never leave or forsake us. Not one thing about this crazy year had taken our Lord in Heaven by surprise.
What a comforting thought!!
“and you have been filled by him, who is the head over every ruler and authority “Colossians 2:10
“For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or rulers, or authorities —all things have been created through him and for him.” Colossians 1:16-17
Praying takes the worry and anxiety of the outcome off of our shoulders and places in our Father’s hands.
I saw this on Facebook recently and it really sums up what the position of our heart should be as this election draws near.
America’s only hope...
Not in the donkey
Not in the elephant
but in the LAMB
May you and your family be blessed.
In Christ,
